‘Tis the Season to Set Boundaries: Tips for Surviving the Holidays The holidays can feel overwhelming and stressful. Setting boundaries is an opportunity to advocate for ourselves and our self-care. Boundaries create a safe space – emotionally, cognitively, physically – and empower us to make healthy choices.

The story is not happening to you but is happening around you in this moment. We have choices as to what story we are in and what role we will play. Your perspective, attitude and actions determine your role in the story. As you change your role, you may find the roles others play around you may change and some of us may even decide to change the cast of characters in the story of our choosing.

And finally, thank you to Dannella Burnette and Project Repurse. This is the 3rd year that this amazing project has blessed our residents. Please know how deeply we appreciate you and your kindness!

Thank you to Redwine United Methodist Church for these gifts for our residents! Redwine has been an amazing support within the community over the past few years. Ms. Pat and everyone else is always there to lend a helping hand, provide food, or just let the residents know that they are loved. Angel House would not be what it is without you and your support. Thank you for helping make this such an incredible Christmas!

This was hands down our best Thanksgiving yet! With the exception of the Turkeys (fried by Rick Aiken), the Honey Baked Ham (donated by the CEO of Harris manufacturing) the gravy (made by our very own Brooke Boyette), and the Macaroni, rice and dressing (our very own Katherine Stilwell), residents really showed out and made the entire feast! Squash casserole, sweet potato soufflé, deviled eggs, the list goes on. It was a magical and heartfelt night.

Several graduates joined the party and each took turns sharing some of their story and their gratitude. It was absolutely a perfect night.

Possibly most exciting is the fact that we got to have our first holiday in our new warehouse! It is a huge space and a blank canvas that with a little TLC and a lot of elbow grease, will soon be the new home for all of our Angel House residents. We are so excited for the next chapter in this program’s already amazing history and we cannot wait to give these deserving women a beautiful new place to call home🏡

Happy Thanksgiving 🍁

Earlier this week we shared a photo of gifts for the children of our residents.

We want to take a moment and thank Southeastern Freight for making this happen. Your kindness and generosity has blessed so many. These children and the women of our program will be provided the opportunity to create beautiful Christmas memories. Your company is an example of why we are so grateful to be located in such an amazing and supportive local community.

Caldwell Electrical Contractors
Redwine UMC
Dannella McWilliams Burnett and Project Re-Purse
Rick Aiken
Angel House of Georgia graduates and their families

We are continuously overwhelmed by the incredible support we receive from our community! Without you, this would not be possible.

Drug Deaths in America Are Rising Faster Than Ever

Drug overdoses in the US are now the leading cause of deaths in people under age 50. With programs like Angel House, we can help the addict find recovery and avoid becoming part of this growing number. With the guidance of staff and recovery skills taught, the women become part of a life worth living.

nytimes.com New data compiled from hundreds of health agencies reveals the extent of the drug overdose epidemic last year. Our estimates show deaths rising faster than ever — up about 19 percent in 2016, and all evidence suggests they will rise again in 2017.

Sunday night group is called the "senior meeting" because it is organized and lead by our senior residents. We give them pretty much creative freedom as long as it is recovery related and moral building. Yesterday they tie-dyed for group and we came to work this morning to find their masterpieces! 😳
