Meet the Nightingale! This Heartbeat series drink available exclusively at our UF Health locations pays homage to Florence Nightingale, a pioneer in nursing and healthcare.

Nightingale dedicated her life to improving patient care. Her groundbreaking work during the Crimean War, where she implemented revolutionary sanitary practices and drastically reduced mortality rates, transformed the medical field.

When she returned from the war, she continued to improve the conditions of hospitals. Her data analysis led to public health advances and her groundbreaking book, "Notes on Nursing," which discusses best practices for good patient care, laid the foundation for modern healthcare practices. Her advice helped transform hospitals. Later on, she established the world's first nursing school, advocating for education and evidence-based care.

Through Florence Nightingale's efforts, "the Lady with the Lamp" helped elevate nursing to a respected profession and continues to inspire healthcare professionals worldwide.
