Did you know today is World Autism Awareness Day! Today GTO members and families showed some support by wearing the color blue. Why the color blue? It’s dedicated to raising awareness of autism.

The color blue symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth and heaven. Blue is considered beneficial to the mind and body! Show your blue for the children and adults with autism!

Lori was so kind to share her story about living with autism My grandson Dalton has autism. He is eight years old and in the second grade. He is a highly intelligent child. He enjoys playing video games and soccer. We enjoy spending time together hiking.

To meet him you would not know he is any different from any other 8 year boy. Autism doesn’t define him. Autism is not a disability. The disability is when people don’t understand how a child with autism functions.

The world maybe on pause, but we should not live with fear. We should fill our minds with positivity. These are the times where we should uplift each other. We would like to take this time to pray over everyone on the frontline, all those who are in hospital beds and the families that are struggling.

Let’s take a moment to pray and thank all truck drivers across the world! Without them we wouldn’t have our everyday supply. They are working long hours and are away from their loved ones. Now that a lot of restaurants and fast food places have closed their dining rooms, truck drivers are finding it hard just to get a simple sandwich since they can’t do drive-thru. It’s hard for them to find parking to catch a break. So if you see a driver today, thank them because they are the true heroes!

While the impact of Covid-19 increases, its business as usual for the transportation industry. Truck drivers are at the front of the line of this crisis too! Here is some useful tips for all drivers heading to hot spots and traveling long hours.

📍Hand wipes & hand sanitizers to keep hands clean often
📍Disinfect frequently by spraying or wiping down work area
📍Avoid touching your eyes, nose & mouth
📍Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue
📍Stand 6ft apart or stay inside your cab while loading and unloading as much as you can.
📍If you are staying overnight at a hotspot area stay inside your cab or room as much as possible.

Re**er markets transition to autumn There was more re**er freight coming out of the Midwest and Florida last week, but that was offset by falling volumes from California.

Demand dips after Hurricane Dorian Sep 9-15 - Truckload markets sprang into action as Hurricane Dorian attacked the East Coast. But since the storm passed, so too has the urgency to move freight.

We move forward, but it stays with us forever. It was one of the worst days, but It was also a day when America united as one! Today we remember those who died, those who served and those who carry on. We have all the families and hero’s in our thoughts and prayers today.
