It also serves as a symbol of good overcoming evil, commemorating the victory of Vishnu against Hiranyakashipu. Happy Holi!

Come join us on a Zine Making Marathon tomorrow 10am-12:45pm at the Office of Asian Pacific Islander Desi Student Engagement (Reitz 2215)! Our talented graduate student, Hien Pham, will be there to assist anyone who needs guidance on making a zine.

Reminder that tomorrow will be the last day to submit a zine for our Open Call Zine Competition as well! We encourage everyone to participate and have a chance to win a Lego Bonsai Tree! The winner will be decided based on a voting system at the APIDSE Cultural Fair on November 28, 2023.

In conjunction with our "Chai Chat x Cultural Fair Zine Workshop" on Nov 13, the Office of Asian Pacific Islander Desi Student Engagement will be holding an open call zine competition! By participating in our zine competition, you may earn a chance to win the grand prize - LEGO BONSAI TREE SET!!!

Theme: You & Your Cultural Identities

Submission requirements:
1. Make a physical 8-page zine that reflects the theme - You & Your Cultural Identities.
2. Learn how to make zine at our zine workshop on Nov 13 or follow the guidelines from the graphic.
3. Submit your zines to the APIDSE student ambassadors at desk by Nov 15, 7pm.
4. Zines will be displayed for voting at the Cultural Fair on Nov 16, 5-7pm, Reitz North Lawn.

Submission of the zine will be accepted from November 8-15. The submitted zines will be displayed at the APIDSE'S Cultural Fair on Nov 16, and the zine with the highest vote will be the winner! Good luck, and looking forward to seeing all of the creative zines you all make!

Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival, is one of the most important festivals in many Asian cultures, dating back over 3,000 years. Asian Pacific Islander Desi Affairs, as a part of the Division of Student Affairs, provides resources to enhance and promote intellectual and personal growth of students to explore and define their complex cultural and intersectional identities.

While focusing on key areas of retention efforts, workshop and program facilitation, service and outreach to the Asian and Asian American community on campus and beyond, the Asian Pacific Islander Desi Affairs works collaboratively within Multicultural and Diversity Affairs and across the university to advocate for the needs of students.
