Celebrating our 16th year, the Gainesville Pops is a wind ensemble that performs for delighted audiences. Modeled after the Boston Pops, the Gainesville Pops!
presents a similar program using traditional concert band instrumentation with a twist: We also feature piano, keyboard, string bass, and occasional vocals. Musical selections at a Pops concert may include Light Classical, Broadway Showtunes, Hollywood Soundtracks, Popular Hits, and Jazz arrangements.

The Gainesville "POPS" is looking to fill several clarinet positions for the upcoming season. Repertoire includes standard concert band literature, marches, Broadway sound tracks and film scores. Rehearsals are every Monday night from 7-9 PM at Howard Bishop Middle School. If you are interested, please contact Gary Langford, conductor to schedule an audition. [email protected]

Making Music in Gainesville
The Gainesville Pops! is comprised of professional musicians, music educators and serious hobbyists, all from the Gainesville area. The group is a performing wind ensemble dedicated to entertaining audiences in North Florida. Modeled after the Boston Pops, the Gainesville Pops! presents a similar program using traditional concert band instrumentation.
Musical selections at a Pops concert may include light classical, Broadway show tunes, Hollywood movie themes, popular hits, marches, and jazz arrangements.
The group was formed in 2008.
