🎃 🔁 Hands-on learning about the plant life cycle!!
🫢 🕷️ Ms. Brand forgot to turn her “Full Belly Bowl” over and the class was overrun with SPIDERS! So all of her kindergarteners painted a bowl to take home! 🎨
📊 Ms. Stephens’s 2nd graders had a fun time learning about graphs and participating in fun graphing activities! 📈
💥 Fun Friday was extra fizzy today with Ms. Davis’ second grade class—they experimented with mentos and Coke, and by the looks of the kids’ faces you can tell they loved it!
📕 🔦 Miss Denton’s kindergarteners had a fun day (and week!)as well! Library books, flashlight Friday, and painting their “Full Belly Bowls!”

🎉 A Fun Friday indeed! Ms. Brand’s kindergarten class filled their reward jar and had a pizza party! 🍕 Mr. T’s 2nd grade class enjoyed celebrating Smokey the Bear’s 80th birthday! 🐻

🎉 YAY!! The top five highest performing students in reading and math diagnostics earned a certificate and a Lucky Ducky in Ms. Davis’ class. We are looking forward to awarding the top five performers mid year as well as the top five highest growth for reading and math! WAY TO GO!!
🐹 Classroom pets are the best! These students love having little Feta and Gouda around ☺️
🎉 Fun Friday is always something our students look forward to each week—Ms. Stephens’s 2nd graders had fun during this week’s Fun Friday activities! 🤩
🎉 It was a PBIS PARTY DAY at CAA! At the end of each month we will celebrate those students who showed the 4 Rs—good choices should be celebrated! 🤩
Ms. Colquitt’s 5th grade class made paste paper timelines for IRA after reading “Keep On! The Story Of Matthew Henson: Co-discoverer of the North Pole.” How fun!
Students in 3rd grade art with Mrs. Odom are learning about Picasso and his abstract art! They are drawing with glue and oil pastel to recreate Picasso’s Rooster. 🐓 🎨

🎶 Students in 1st-3rd grade are focusing on “beat” and rhythm” in Mrs. Pettit’s music class: singing rhythms, playing rhythms with instruments, and even creating and then performing their own rhythms, just like a composer! 🎶
Mrs. Best’s class did a great job working in small groups on different passages, using their checklist to determine if the passages were a personal narrative or not! 🔎 ✍️
🗓️ THIS WEEK AT CAA: Blue Pop (send in $2!)—send in shoes and clothes for our shoe drive fundraiser and the clothes for our clothes closet!

Join us Monday, August 26th from 8:00am-9:00am for a Coffee Chat! All families are welcome to join principal Dr. Jefferson, Counselor Dr. Neese, and Instructional Coach Lauren Niles on Monday, August 26th from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM to learn about Centennial Arts Academy and how to help your child be more successful in school. Information will be provided about our Title I program, how to communicate with your child’s teacher, and ways to help your child at home. Plan to join us and learn more! Math is so much more fun when it involves building a robot using base ten blocks! Mrs. Millwood’s 3rd grade class enjoyed this fun hands-on activity.
