We were so grateful to dancers from the Metropolitan Ballet who came and performed a couple of pieces from their production of The Nutcracker Suite and taught us one of the dances. The Sugarplum Fairy is an alum!
Today, after Donuts for Dads a couple of dads who are Firefighters gave a great Fire Safety presentation. They may have inspired a future fire fighter.
Kindergarten crushed some maple leaves, added isopropyl alcohol and a paper towel. They then observed the colors absorbing up the towel - both green AND the colors left when the chorophyll grains away!
We had a great time at the King Farm Fall Festival. We saw an old friend and made some new ones
Kindergarten continued exploring Van Gogh while creating their own Starry Nights.
Children made their healthy snack with a 100% whole grains rice cake, sun butter, banana's and raisins for the Kindergarten's Teddy Bear Picnic Day!

Today, in Kindergarten and Pre-K plus, we read a book about Vincent Van Gogh, experienced sunflowers in a lot of different ways, and then expressed ourselves artistically. We really enjoyed chalk pastels!

Last Friday, we had our first Family Truck Day event! It was a ton of fun. We thank all of the amazing trucks, face-painting, moon-bounce , family and friends that came.
Thank you to one of our awesome GPP&K parents, who is also a bee keeper, for coming out today to teach the children about the life of bees, and how they make honey. We even got a chance to taste the honey. 🐝🍯
Since April, our students have been observing our precious chick eggs and learning about their life cycle. After 21-22 days, we finally welcomed 8 beautiful baby chicks into the world. Our school was in awe and love. We safely returned them back to the farm to continue growing!
On Wednesday, we had our annual truck day, for our students. The children loved learning about the variety of transportation and meeting our awesome community workers. Join us this Friday, May 12th 4-7pm for our first Family Truck Day to experience the same fun!

Thank you so much to for our wonderful dental visit. Our students had the opportunity to learn about dental health, healthy eating and the importance of proper dental hygiene.
Thank you to one of our Kindergarten parents for coming out to coach and demonstrate the skills and techniques used to play soccer. For the Kindergarten Health and Fitness Unit, our Kindergarten, 4s and PKPlus classes had a blast learning and practicing the game of soccer.
Happy 100th Day of school! Yesterday our Kindergarten and PKP class had their 100th day of school!! Yay! Today they celebrate. They had a special guest teacher! Grandma Kohut who is 100. 😂 The students had several conversations amongst each other, deciding if this was really Mrs. Kohut’s grandma or Mrs. Kohut herself. 🧐
This week was Pet Week! Our 3s class learned about different types of pets and veterinarians. Thank you to Mrs. Bahls for being our pretend Vet and a BIG thank you to Mrs. Bahls pet dog, Bo, for coming and leading the day. Our 4s and Kindergartners had a chance to meet Bo and talk about Pets. They all shared who had pets, how to take care of a pet and the job of a Vet.
Last week the Pre-Kindergarten Plus (PKP) class learned about the post office, the system and how it works. The children had the opportunity to go to our pretend post office, purchase a stamp and mail their postcards home.

We celebrated the Chinese Lunar New Year with A Dragon Parade through the hallways of the school and church.
In January, the 3s learned about different instruments and the sounds that they make. They made their own tambourine and had a marching parade.
