After all, every scrap of evidence indicts the accused. (I mean so clearly. The....

QO Theatre

05/21/2020

Dear QO Theatre Community,

We truly hope that our QO Theatre community members have been able to stay safe and healthy during this unprecedented time. We have missed seeing the various members of this great Cougar community.
When we left school in March, we were incredibly inspired by the strength of our students that were involved in our Spring 2020 show, The Addams Family. Even with all the uncertainty, they remained upbeat and positive that our show would go on. Throughout the shutdown, many of them have reached out to each other and us to check in and keep spreading that love and positivity. It is heart-warming to know how much of a family our students have become!
Unfortunately, this pandemic has caused many productions across the country to have to close their doors and cancel performances. It is with the deepest sorrow that we have to officially announce that due to the closure of school for the rest of the year and in order to protect our students, production team, and audience members, our Spring 2020 production will not happen this year. You may not know, but The Addams Family was fully staged, the costumes and sets were almost completed, and we already had our publicity blitz to promote the production. We want to thank the local businesses that allowed our promotional materials to be placed in your establishments! Our students and production staff poured so much into making the production amazing, and it makes us sad that audiences will not get to see all of their hard work.
A note about advertisements that were purchased for our show program: we obviously will not be having a hardcopy (paper) show program for this cancelled production. However, we want to still give our students a memento for their hard work, as well as provide businesses and community members the opportunity to advertise. Therefore, we will be providing a digital version of the intended show program. We understand this is different from our original intent, so we will be offering those who purchased an ad the opportunity for a refund. Any refunded ads will be pulled from the digital version. Advertisers will be contacted directly about their ad, or can contact Linda Lee (Producer) at [email protected].
While we know we cannot predict the future, we are hoping that we will be able to all be back together in the Fall. We appreciate the community’s continued support as we figure out our productions for the 2020-2021 school year. Stay tuned!

Stay safe and healthy!

Sincerely,
Jessica Vogel & Linda Lee
QO Theatre Director & Producer

Help spread the word....

Per MCPS/MC gov't staff imploring PSA: can everyone please pass the word around asap and continually (ideas below), about free meals for kids at MCPS so they don't have to take it back and unload it every day? The word is not getting around, enough, apparently, to those who might need it most, and so, *meanwhile*, they want everyone to come help consume it by kids in your household, for this time.

They implored us to post this widely, all week.

MC mealkits update PSA and links:
I have this Please-Share update from MC staff (links are below) from our local drop site [recommend read links, below, first, if you are not familiar with the program currently running since Monday to hand out meal kits, and then these updates make sense. I put a brief explainer as point 3, after the new key updates]:

1. Quantity operates on the honor system, so to quote our local driver: please tell people to NOT round up the little kids and bring everyone in the family to the pickup spot, if possible to avoid. Just an adult, maybe a helper, preferably not all or little kids in a family, the staff begged us to convey, to reduce both interfamily interactions and crowds, as word spreads. It means dividing this from whole-family walk for some people, but for public health and honoring staff comfort and policy guidance, please spread this instruction, too.

2. Dinners started today, also, yes, handed out at the same time. See next point to recap.

3. Logistics brief/recap/explainer:

- 11 am - 1 pm meal kits handed out at key sites.

- Found at sites listed on updated MCPS page/pdf* (links below)

- No, no paperwork is needed or done.

- No, it is not only for FARM qualifiers (free and reduced meals)

- This day's Lunch and Dinner, and next day's Breakfast, are given at this one time

- It is on the honor system: you say how many kids youbare picking up for and they give you that many.

- Staff and police escorts dissuade families bringing many and very young children who have other caregiving they could remain with, not tagging everyone along in car or walking into drop zone, along unless absolutely essential for chaperoning, and then to quickly wothiut sidebars to other families or lingering, get meal kits and depart area.

5. To restress, as clarification: ALL families are invited to come get food for kids, right now, if this is helpful to anyone, so food is not unused, and that they don't have to reunload it all back at warehouse. Therefore the PLEASE-SHARE status is requested *by* Montgomery County staff, authorizing me to ask on their behalf that you each >>PLEASE PASS IT ON
