Our 2024 Workplace Giving Campaign season is now in full swing! Workplace Campaigns are the most common and most popular format for United Way fundraising efforts. Participating companies choose when they want to conduct their Workplace Giving Campaign and then set-up their campaign dates with UWSC. Most campaigns run for approximately one month, but it can vary. During the campaign, the company invites their employees to support UWSC through a one-time donation or recurring payroll deduction. Many companies coordinate a UWSC employee presentation so our staff can share what we do in the community, let employees know where the money goes in the community, and answer any questions they may have. Click the link to schedule your campaign dates or to get more information.

We also welcomed two new members on July 1: Amy Ramsey and Jordon Woodruff. Congratulations to the UWSC 2023 Company of the Year, SERVPRO Headquarters! The Company of the Year Award embodies the full spirit of GIVE ADVOCATE VOLUNTEER. Privileged to get to hear from Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee today at the Hendersonville Area Chamber of Commerce Hendersonville, TN Luncheon! It was a packed room and the Governor did a wonderful job talking about economic impact in Tennessee! We also loved that he was introduced by Mayor Jamie Clary and a bright young man from Davidson Academy.

Incredibly saddened by the loss of our valiant servant leader Sheriff Sonny Weatherford. Our prayers are with the family and our community.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Sheriff Roy “Sonny” Weatherford.
Sheriff Weatherford dedicated his life to the service and protection of our community, embodying the very essence of commitment, bravery, and integrity. In every action and decision, he demonstrated an unwavering commitment to justice and the well-being of every citizen.
Throughout his career, Sheriff Weatherford faced countless challenges with courage and determination, always prioritizing the safety of others above his own.
Beyond the badge and uniform, Sonny was a person of deep compassion and empathy. He understood that the role of a sheriff was not just about enforcing the law, but also about fostering trust and building relationships within the community. He took the time to listen, to understand, and to help those in need, often going above and beyond the call of duty.
To Tammy and the family, we extend our deepest condolences and pray for God’s comfort during this time of profound loss. Your loss is immeasurable, and we share in your grief. We are profoundly grateful for the sacrifices you have made, supporting Sonny as he dedicated his life to serving others.
As we reflect on Sheriff Weatherford’s legacy, let us remember the values he stood for: justice, integrity, and compassion. Let us honor his memory by striving to live up to these ideals in our own lives.
Though Sonny is no longer with us, his legacy and influence will continue to guide and inspire us. May Sonny rest in peace, and may his legacy endure in the hearts and minds of all who had the privilege to know and work alongside him.
