Today marks the seventh year and memorial of our brother Steven Hensle.

Steve came into Stockton Fall of 2010 and took a small leave of absence for family. After this He had been became a Talon for the school and showed incoming freshman what Stockton is all about. He joined Kappa Sigma Fall 2014 and served as GMC in 2015.

He was diagnosed with brain cancer a few days before Christmas in 2015 where he took another leave of absence to start chemo and radiation. Those next 10 months were very hard but Steve fought through everything and finished his degree.

In October 2016 his scans did not show any growth and he went to disney with his girlfriend and proposed to Caitlyn, his girlfriend since 2010. Coming back home from disney in January he went to get more scans done and there was another growth. Spring 2017 he went for another round of chemo and radiation, following the second surgey there were complications. His Mom, Lisa Hensel and Caitlyn were always by his side, he was bed ridden for months.

Come May 2017 on Mother’s day Stockton recognized Steve and Caitlyn and received his Diploma. Xi-Rho inducted Steven as an Inaugural member of the Xi-Rho Hall Of Fame along with Ryan Mully and Cliff Keen. The day After Mothers Day on May 15 2017, Steve passed and was inducted into our Chapter Celestial as he is our only brother in it.

We host a Light Up Lake Fred lantern event for the Ulman Foundation and to remember Steve and all his has done for the school and our fraternity. A stome is laid near Campus D Wing and Lake Fred & a named Scholarship Leadership Award through Kappa Sigma Endowment in his name is given to a worthy undergraduate of Xi-Rho.

Not for a day or an hour or college term but for life. AEKDB

Rest in Peace Steven ❤️
