Domestic violence affects people from all walks of life, and it's our duty to break the silence, raise awareness, and offer our unwavering support. Let's continue the conversation, educate ourselves and others, and work towards creating a world where everyone can live free from fear and violence.

We cannot imagine the ongoing fear, trauma, and unease experienced by those directly impacted by the Hamas attack and the retaliatory attacks that continue across the area. We join those who mourn the innocent lives that are being lost in a decades long conflict they had no hand in. While the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is one that causes much polarization, we call for an extension of compassion for the innocent; and we offer our deepest condolences and prayers to the victims, families, friends, and communities affected by these attacks.

Mental Health is not a sign of weakness, but a testament to our strength and resilience. World Mental Health Day is our way of recognizing and understanding that caring for our mental health and emotional well-being is just as crucial as our physical health.

Today, be intentional about checking on your loved ones - including your friends. Let's break the stigma surrounding mental health - it doesn’t have a way that it’s supposed to “look” on someone. Just be kind. Encourage open conversations. Lend a listening ear, offer a hug or give someone a word of support, as they may be struggling in silence.
If that someone is you - remember that you are never alone on this journey.

Take time for self-care, practice mindfulness, and prioritize your mental and emotional well-being. Together, we can create a supportive and understanding community where everyone's mental health is valued and protected.

In the wake of the recent gun violence at Morgan State University, our heart breaks yet again for the Bowie State University community after another senseless on-campus shooting that injured two people and turned what should be a safe space for students into one that is steeped in fear and uncertainty. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated continues to fight for policy changes to reduce the likelihood of events like this tragedy in our communities. This national crisis will require the power of our collective voices to apply the necessary pressure to move our legislators to enact change. We stand in support of the victims and their families to help bring an end to these senseless acts of gun violence.

Indigenous Peoples’ Day celebrates the resilience, wisdom, and heritage of the First Nations. Today, we celebrate the rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and contributions of Indigenous people throughout history. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated is proud to celebrate the diversity that comprises our Sisterhood, and we honor the beautiful legacy of our Indigenous brothers and sisters.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. takes a stand every year to remind the nation that there are still countless people - victims and survivors, their children and families, their friends and family, their communities - impacted by domestic violence.

Can you imagine a future where domestic violence can be identified and responded to properly, especially in a health care setting? Imagine that process being tailored to every individual you encounter...

Our advocacy extends far beyond the month of October. We will not stop until society has zero tolerance for domestic violence and until all victims and survivors can be heard.

As we all know, bullying is a major problem. It has no boundaries - mentally, physically… or geographically! No matter your experiences, we all know someone that has either been bullied or been the victim of a bully - or maybe you were the bully...

How can we fix it, if we don’t address it? Prevention starts with us!

Earlier forms of bullying were shown through advantageous acts of physical aggression. Today, we are seeing more with words wielded as weapons for defamation, online trolling, and even different forms of manipulative bullying through hazing.

This goes beyond school-aged children. It’s on a collegiate level, in the workplace, in the church, your local women’s group, or it could be amongst your group of friends.

Bullying remains largely understated and unaddressed. Turning a blind eye only fortifies a woman’s self-censorship and erodes their self-esteem. We must do better. It’s our responsibility.

So today, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. invites you to wear your orange this month, and join us in rallying for and addressing bullying to draw attention to this issue within your own communities. Together we can make a change - because everyone has a role to play in bullying prevention!

As a proud partner of the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, it is the season for all Zeta chapters and auxiliary groups to come together to raise awareness in service and donations toward finding a cure for breast cancer.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., made history on September 20, 2023 as more than 1,100 registered women of Zeta and Amicae gathered for a day of education and advocacy at the historic Lincoln Theatre in Washington, D.C.

The audience was treated to informative presentations from a powerful group of panelists and remarks from special guest, the Hon. Marcia L. Fudge, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. Additionally, International President & CEO Grant awarded Attorney Ben Crump with the inaugural Social Justice Trailblazer Award.

We love and appreciate our sisters in over 800 chapters around the world for hosting watch parties and discussing the Hazing film prior to the Historic Town Hall with filmmaker Byron Hurt on September 27th.

Sharing the best practices to combat hazing through social media posts, the Finer Women Don’t Haze (FWDH) team look forward to showcasing the unique and cutting-edge programming against hazing conducted by our local chapters, and to continued collaboration with our partners, colleges and universities, and law enforcement.
