Medallion Award: Bountiful Blessings Food Pantry:
Volunteers with this organization offer nutritious food and support services to individuals in the Greater Gaston County area.

Sandy DeMarco:
Her volunteer efforts support the Friends of the Gaston County Public Library, Keep Gastonia Beautiful, Backpack Weekend Food Program, and Gaston Literacy Council.

Jami Gibson:
A volunteer with Gaston Literacy Council’s Reading Soulmates Program and volunteer as an ESL teacher.

Denise Harris:
Volunteer with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Gaston, Guardian ad Litem program, Master Gardeners, and Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden.

Jodie Lawrence-Brian:
Volunteer with Special Olympics.

Rev. Ephraim Winkfield:
Volunteer with the American Red Cross and Crisis Assistance Ministry.

We had an amazing time at the United Way of Gaston County this morning during our United in Purpose Leadership Coffee Hour with Jennie Stultz! Jennie shared her insightful "Myths of Leadership," and it truly resonated with all of us. Jim Valvano's words sum it up perfectly: "If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that’s a full day. That’s a heck of a day. You do that seven days a week, you’re going to have something special." Today was indeed a full and special day!

The City of Mount Holly has kicked off their United Way giving campaign! On Friday, United Way team members celebrated with City of Mount Holly employees at their Employee Appreciation Day.

On yesterday, we celebrated and thanked our United Way of Gaston County spring intern, Kieran Wood, who is a graduating senior at Highland School of Technology! Kieran is an aspiring Graphic Designer and/or Marketer, enrolled in Highland's Graphic Design pathway. 🌎Earth Day Celebration🌎

Yesterday, was Earth Day and the United Way Youth Council celebrated by teaming up with Keep Gastonia Beautiful, Inc. to have a cleanup day. Youth Council students collected trash around the United Way building, down Oakland street, and down parts of Main Street. The team collected 11 pounds of trash!

We are so excited to announce that Purse Power 2024 raised $45,953 for our Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and Early Childhood Literacy initiatives! Purse Power 2024 did not disappoint! We had a fantastic time at the ladies' night out hosted by United Way of Gaston County in support of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library program. It's amazing to see the community come together for early childhood literacy. Gaston County children currently receive over 18,000 books annually!
