FUMC Gastonia Youth

This Sunday will be Stephanie Jenkins' last Sunday with FUMC Gastonia. Stephanie and her family will be there to greet people in between services in Gunter Hall at 10am. Her last day in the office will be Thursday August 31st.

Delayed at least an hour.. We've officially hit the 24 hour mark of being in Miami. Waiting ... just waiting.

Our group is still in Miami... unfortunately due to delays, our connecting flight took off without us. They even held the plane and had airline associates taking us where we needed to go. Eventually we will get home.

Honduras Day 7: last night we had worship with our "made to be" theme. This morning we had a soccer tournament... which was INTENSE. We said goodbye to the campers, then packed up for San Pedro Sula with a stop to the market and coffee shop.

Honduras Day 6: Refugio "Made to Be" is in full swing. Hosting these two homes is such a fun time - relay race (which included a mud pit), watermelon contest, volleyball, swimming and more. We're about to worship for our last night at Camp Jerusalem. We will be headed to San Pedro Sula tomorrow afternoon after the conclusion of Refugio.

We've had a blast today during our free day at the waterfall. Zip line, lunch and hiking UNDER the waterfall. Now we are going back to camp where we get to welcome youth from pro Nino and yo quiero ser to host the weekend retreat "refugio" . We are psyched about being with these communities again!

What a great day at Integrar (center for those with down syndrome! In the morning we interacted with students participating in physical therapy. In the afternoon we helped prepare a garden for new dirt. Plus, we had another dance party with the students! The shed is looking great too!

Today in Honduras: Visited Yo Quiero Ser and spent the day doing a small project, coloring, playing games, getting beat at soccer, hair braiding, and making bracelets.

We've had a great day at Intergrar (a center for those with down syndrome). We helped clear where they will be building a shed (while ncountering some creatures in the process). A few did yoga with the students and we had a dance party! On the bus ride back camp. Looking forward to another great worship like last night.

First UMC Gastonia's Children's Ministry Department

We are so thankful for the foundational building block as children's ministry leads straight into youth ministry. It's amazing to look back and see how every rising mid-hi & senior-hi has been blessed by Kristi. Thank you Kristi for pouring into these youth and families. These are pictures of the last seven years of 5th Grade Retreats.
