Today, for our Small Business Feature, we want to extend our deepest thanks to Sandy and Max, the incredible owners of Cravings in downtown Geneva. 💛

When the fire impacted our business, they didn’t hesitate to step in and lend a hand. Not only did Sandy help with cleanup, but Max’s two sons also joined the effort, helping pack up items during our community cleanup day. Their generosity didn’t stop there—they organized a fundraiser, donating a portion of their food and beverage sales to support us. 🫶

On top of all that, Dawn is a huge fan of their freshly prepared meals and refreshing fruit smoothies, especially their cantaloupe one 🍈 which is a summer favorite! 😋

We’re beyond thankful for their kindness and for always going above and beyond to support fellow small businesses. Cravings is a perfect example of the tight-knit community spirit that makes our neighborhood so special. 💕

It was truly heartwarming to see our community come together to support Stockholm's, Pärla, and the neighboring businesses by Stockholm’s after the fires we both suffered. A heartfelt thank you to Cathy and Amy, the amazing owners of Up North Wine Tasting Room, for organizing a wonderful fundraiser for us. They collected gift certificates from generous local businesses to help raise money through raffle tickets.

During the event, they crafted a special cocktail called the “Parla 122,” which was such a hit that they decided to feature it for the entire month of August! 🍹✨ For every “Parla 122” sold, $5 will be donated directly to Parla.

This enchanting cocktail is made with TC Whiskey Gin, lavender simple syrup, fresh lemon zest and juice 🍋, a lemon peel, and topped with sparkling wine. Don’t miss out on this delightful drink and the chance to enjoy some of their premier Northern Michigan wines.

✨We’re overwhelmed by the continued support we have been receiving from our community and small business owners. We have a long road ahead of us, but having the kindness and support from everyone who has reached out and helped us this week has made this devastating week a little easier to navigate.

We will be taking a few days to recharge and will do one last small cleanup on Saturday, July 27th from 10 am to 12:00 pm. We have plenty of boxes that have been donated, but packing tape and bubble wrap are the two items that are most needed if anyone would like to help with supplies.

Geneva business community unites to support fire-damaged shop Parla, a home decor and consignment shop at 122 Hamilton St. in Geneva, caught fire on Monday morning.

✨Thank you to everyone who has reached out, and to the small business owners that stopped by yesterday to help. While the fire department needed time to ensure it was safe to return into the building we waited over at Nosh. A big thank you to Nosh Company owner Mike and the entire Nosh team working Elise, Kelsey, and Eileen for their hospitality and kindness during a stressful morning.

Special thank you to Tom and Jennifer from The Royal Wren, Lynne from Liz & Kate, Jen from Jennifer Kaye Photography, Theresa from Ken’s Auto Center for all stopping by to help Dawn and Kristen with the cleanup. We’re grateful to have such kind and supportive neighbors in our community to help us navigate during this challenging time.

Sadly, our building caught fire this morning, and we will be closed for some time as we handle the situation. We want to express our gratitude to the Geneva Fire Department, West Chicago Fire Dept, St Charles Fire Dept, Elburn Countryside Fire Dept, Batavia Fire Dept, North Aurora Fire Dept, Geneva Police Department, and Geneva Building Commissioner for their swift response to the fire.

It is too early to determine our next steps, but we are thankful that no one was injured. We will provide updates on our social media regarding our plans moving forward.
