This past week I had the opportunity to attend a workshop in New Jersey with artist Annie Hamman from South Africa. It was hosted by another awesome artist, Olga Furman, who lives in East Brunswick. The workshop was held at Seven Hearts Farm which is a beautiful, nature-y, artsy and inspiring place to paint! These photos are works in progress during our time together, courtesy of Annie. I mailed them back and once here, I'll finish them and post the end results :)

🌍🐮 Happy Cow Appreciation Day, my dear friends! 🥳🎉 Today, we have a special guest who's ready to steal the spotlight: the fabulous and majestic Marnie! 👑✨ She's a proud member of the crowned critters family, and boy, does she know how to rock that regal crown! 👑💃 Marnie is ready to moo--ve in to the hearts of her adoring fans 🐄💖 So let's raise our glasses (or maybe a glass of milk) to Marnie and all the amazing cows out there who bring us joy, nourishment, and fodder for our artwork 🥛🥰

Meet Innocent Millicent ... she's inspired by the bunnies in my garden, like the cuties I've shared with you in my last couple of reels. Yes, they eat all the good plants in my garden, but ... that cute innocent look they give you! Sigh. I just keep planting more flowers (um, I mean bunny food :) )

Ah, the first day of summer! My FAVORITE time of year! I love the sun, the warmth, the longer days ... all.of.it. I even love the thunderstorms and rainy days. The green gardens and the sunny flowers. The birds, the bugs and the critters! I love to paint outside and have my coffee on the patio. I love to swim and to walk in the woods. I can't think of a single thing about summer that I could live with out :) How about you? What is your favorite thing about summer?

So fun to be included in the Indie Art Park "Cats - not the musical" exhibit and I'm excited to share that they have taken some of my work on the road with them to The Fine Line arts center in St. Charles this weekend :) I love seeing my work out in the wild!

"My Feathered Nest" is a large piece I finished recently using Acrylic & Collage on Cardboard. I love her! Her skirt of feathers was an image I had in my head and it inspired the rest of the painting. The original lives at my house (wink) but I'll be creating prints and products in the near future. National Learn About Butterflies Day is today, March 14, another day to celebrate and learn about one of the most beautiful and colorful creatures in the world — butterflies! Butterflies are important creatures because they help to pollinate flowers. But, more than that, they are pleasing to the eyes, and we love seeing them around us.

Here's a place to start learning, but a quick google search should give you all kinds of results! Bonus points for finding plants the butterflies like so you can plant them in your yard this Spring :)
