Dear Third Street Eye Care family,

I want to share a Ward family update with you: Our family is moving to Iowa! I’ll continue to practice optometry and my husband will work at a church in the Des Moines area. While this transition is bittersweet, we are excited to be closer to family and have our kids grow up in the area I grew up in.

I will continue to work throughout the rest of June and will be part of the transition process as our other fantastic doctors take over your care. My last day seeing patients will be Saturday, June 29th. I would love to see you all before I move, so please feel free to stop by the office before then to say goodbye!

Beginning in July, Third Street Eye Care will consist of some new and old faces. Dr. Azzaro will remain the primary owner of Third Street Eye Care and the primary clinician at Seven Bridges Eye Care in Woodridge. Dr. Amanda Ico, a new hire from Illinois College of Optometry, will be joining the practice. She is looking forward to working with her fellow ICO graduate, Dr. Eric Veverka. Dr. Veverka has been part of the Third Street Eye Care family since 2022.

As you enter the clinic, you will still be welcomed by our friendly receptionists, opticians and technicians who work together to make your appointments as seamless and comfortable as possible. From getting checked in to addressing your eyecare needs and finding your perfect eyewear, the Third Street Eye Care experience will remain top tier. Please know and trust that you will continue to be in great hands at Third Street Eye Care as you have been since its inception in 2012.

Finally, thank you so much for the time we have spent together and for trusting me to be your optometrist. You all have always felt like family more than patients. I am so grateful for the honor I have had to share life with you and to be able to care for your eyes.

We are so excited to announce the winning design by 10-year-old Lilliana, submitted by Mascoutah Eye Care. Her rainbow mosaic pattern combined with on-trend crystal frames simply blew us away! Congrats to Lilliana!! She'll be received a special prize package and her design will become a part of the 2023 db4k Eyewear collection!
