Do you have a student who is interested in learning photography? I'd love to come alongside your student and help ignite a passion and love for capturing memories and creating art. Join us for this 5-session comprehensive photography class.

Lessons will be held each Tuesday from May 7th-June 4th at my home in SE Mesa on Ray + Signal Butte. We will meet from 3:30-5:00PM.

I limit the class size to 12 students. I am an ESA approved vendor and you provide all the necessary credentials including an invoice with required equipment (Cameras are covered under ESA).

As a photographer, the perfectionist side of me is an asset. I pay close attention to the details others often miss, I make sure things look natural and that nothing is out of place. As many of you know I'm a homeschool mama. One of the biggest perks of homeschooling is being in charge of our schedule. At the beginning of each new year, I map out our schedule, when we'll take breaks, vacation and go on day trips. Of course this is flexible and can change, but having it laid out in advance is really helpful.​​​​​​​​

Recently my kids were sad that while everyone in our area got 2 weeks for fall break, we only took 1. I explained to them that the reason for this was that I strategically planned our 2nd week of break while every was back in school so that we could take our trip to California. ​​​​​​​​

𝟭 - 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗼 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗜 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱: It’s really important that you understand and adopt this new mentality that if you want to scale and grow your business, you have to get out of solopreneur mindset. Just because you are a solopreneur today and maybe you don’t have anyone on your team yet doesn’t mean that you won’t in the future.​​​​​​​​
𝟮- 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 "𝘆𝗲𝘁": Having a growth mindset that is willing to change and adapt is great, but it can't stop there. You need to move into the action mindset and make a change. Instead of being down on yourself for not being proficient at something, always include the yet. I'm not good at ______ yet. I don't know how to do _______ yet. Then move into taking action and growing in that area. ​​​​​​​​

𝟯- 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝗳𝘂𝗲𝗹: When you feel like you’re failing at something, I want you to let it fuel you. Let it be just information that helps you make a different or better decision in the future. When something isn’t working, instead of asking why me, instead use it as an opportunity to try something new. To stretch yourself and to figure out another way.​​​​​​​​

Have you ever used Toggl for time tracking? This is been an incredibly insightful tool for my business. It's a free app and google chrome extension that will allow you to start and stop a timer, and select the category of work you're doing. ​​​​​​​​

Yes this takes a few extra seconds to log, and it's a habit you have to get into to start and stop the timer, but I'm telling you what, if you struggle with time management (which if we're being honest, we all could improve in this area) this will help you so much!! ​​​​​​​​

Why does this help? So you can refer back to your daily/weekly log and see what you're spending time doing. Create a category for getting organized, finding things, wasted time and figure out where you can streamline. This will be so eye opening. Every time you change tasks, stop and restart the timer. ​​​​​​​​

My mind was literally blown when I heard about it, and I use it everyday and I don't think I'll ever stop time tracking. The insight is so extremely valuable. I know exactly where I'm spending my time each week and can streamline and course correct in the future.

𝟯 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘀

We all know that brand photos can be used to elevate your online presence through your website and on social media, but have you ever wondered what else you could use these photos for, that could help elevate your brand even more? I'm so excited to share these 3 ideas with you.

𝟭- 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲: I'm sure you get asked a lot of the same questions from potential clients wondering what it's like to work with you and what they can expect. Why not be proactive here and create a welcome guide to send to these perspective clients with all the info they need to make an educated decision and include lots of brand photos (including photos of you in action doing your job) to help give them a glimpse into what it would be like working with you.

𝟮- 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀: As business owners we are always looking for ways to enhance our client experience. Sending a branded handwritten thank you card or post card would leave your clients feeling so loved and cared for. Who doesn't love something personal in the mail?? Ending your client journey with a special touch like this, only further solidifies their amazing experience working with you.

𝟯- 𝗘𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 + 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲: You may have heard that sending text only emails are the best thing to do, but in my opinion, we all get so many emails and it's so important that you stand out. At a minimum it's important to include a photo of you in your email signature so that people remember who you are and begin to associate your name and face. To take this a step further, occasionally sprinkle in your brand photos and personal photos to connect with your audience on a deeper level.

I also recommend sticking to outfits and styles that you'd typically wear on a "normal" workday. For instance, if your business if fitness related, it might not be the best idea to wear a formal suit and heels. Makes sense, right? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
