After I shared below post, a lovely art lover from England reached me to obtain this drawing and made my day. And today I’m thrilled to share that my drawing, "May life come as it is," has been beautifully printed by the fantastic local company, Muzeo Prints. A huge thank you to them for their incredible work! 🙏
One is going to England to its forever home, but still have some prints available for those who’d love to give this piece a home. If you're interested, please feel free to contact me.
Thank you all for your continued support and for sharing this creative journey with me! ❤️

Since last December, I’ve felt like a nomad, navigating the transition to our new life in America. I’ve been striving to remain true to myself amidst the constant change of homes and places. For me, home is within my own body, making it crucial to acclimate to the new environment and climate. While unexpected challenges have slowed the process, I believe that once I find comfort in one place, it will extend to others. So, I’m learning to go with the flow. These emotions will inevitably find their expression in my art which is a big relief to know. As I was writing these lines, the chorus of the song “Gelsin Hayat Bildiği Gibi”, a duet between Ceza and Sezen Aksu, was on my tongue.
Gelsin, hayat bildiği gibi gelsin
İşimiz bu, yaşamak
Unuttum bildiğimi doğarken
Umudum ölmeden hatırlamak
Gelsin, hayat bildiği gibi gelsin
İşimiz bu, yaşamak
Unuttum bildiğimi doğarken
Umudum ölmeden hatırlamak

We were catching up with a very talented former stage design student, a new fellow artist, and my art director friend , who mentioned he liked my previous drawing and thought it resembled a sculpture. This conversation with him inspired me to envision my drawings as sculptures placed in the locations I love! Since one of my designs has already been brought to life by , a magician of metal sculptures, thanks to these two creative minds, I began experimenting with this concept in the photos I captured during my walk by the lake today. I’ve always desired to see my designs in more public spaces, so maybe sometime soon, who knows!

Here are some photos from my visit to the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. I was lucky to see the exhibition Tatau: Marks of Polynesia, the art of Samoan tattooing, as a bonus, as well as the permanent collection of the museum. I always loved the tattoo but never had the courage to have my own 😅 maybe one day, who knows!

When I’m in nature, I feel like I’m part of it. I think many people feel this way too. But personally, I also believe I was once a Sycamore tree. I can’t prove it, but it’s a strong feeling for me. So, I’ve been gathering places where I feel connected and turning them into art. Now, I’d like to share these artworks with you. If you have a similar place, I’d love for you to share it with me. Maybe our spots are alike, just like our love for art!

You can always find me wearing a huge smile when I’m surrounded by art. However, these images are nothing compared to what I saw today; they are just a small taste from the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. And for sure I’ll be back!

What are the odds of meeting a Queenslander in Park City, Utah? Last weekend, we ventured out to explore the area, and our first stop was, of course, Park City – the hub of the Sundance Film Festival and the site of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games. While I didn’t ski, I visited all the galleries on Main Street. To my surprise, the first gallery we entered was owned by the artist David K. Beavis .beavis from Perth, Australia, showcasing magnificent photographs from around the world. And then the manager of the second gallery, Di Dray at Pando Fine Art, was from Brisbane, having moved here thirty years ago. Immediately, we struck up a friendly conversation and exchanged numbers. I love these serendipitous encounters that make the world feel so small and welcoming, no matter where you go!
Check out Jordan Daines’ colorful works capturing the joyous moments at Pando Fine Art.
Sending love and strength your way during this tough time, my dearest Naciye Remembering the joy of our last time together. Attached are our lovely memories to bring a smile. I’m here for you, and my thoughts are with your mom. Stay strong, my friend.

Amidst this whirlwind of change, I’ve sought solace in moments of introspection. Delving into books, letting creativity flow through my writing, and embracing quiet reflections have been part of my journey. Taking a step back from my usual social spaces has helped me find my stride in this new chapter. It’s been quite the ride, and I’m relishing every moment!
Ah and yes a new name for a new chapter 🥂
As we gear up to welcome a new year, I wanted to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to each of you for being part of my journey and for your unwavering support. Your presence means the world to me. Here’s wishing you all a fantastic new year filled with peace, love, and boundless creativity. 🌀🌿🥂
With love until our paths cross again soon,
Ozlem xx
Ps; Finally we reunited with my beloved boy Cali and I touched the snow again after seven years! 🐾
I took this photo of myself on the very first day when I got the key to the space that we worked hard to turn into an art gallery, and three years later, soon, I will be giving it back! So, I feel nostalgic about closing the gallery door and getting ready for the next chapter, even though I am so excited about it. But that's me. I am a nostalgic person!
And then I wondered what the exact word nostalgia meant. The definition below precisely describes what I am feeling. Also, I am not shocked that the word’s origin goes back to the Greeks, but I was surprised it is considered a disease! On the other hand, it also enlightens those who have never felt Nostalgia!
Oh well, here is a cheers 🥂 to me, my nostalgia and everyone who are part of it!
“Nostalgia is a sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations. It's a complex emotion that often involves a mixture of happiness, sadness, and longing when recalling memories or experiences from earlier times.
The word "nostalgia" comes from two Greek words: "nostos," meaning "homecoming," and "algos," meaning "pain" or "ache." Originally, it was considered a medical term describing homesickness that was considered an illness or a form of melancholy.” *
