Today, the ANCA-WR honors the memory of the countless victims of Stalin's genocide, which claimed the lives of 20 million across the Soviet Union, including countless Armenian leaders, intellectuals, and visionaries.

The ANCA-WR solemnly commemorates World Humanitarian Day and demands urgent action in support of the 100k+ Armenians forcibly displaced by Azerbaijan's campaign of genocide. Central to our call for justice are the demand for meaningful humanitarian aid to support urgent needs, and the unconditional right of return of the indigenous Armenian People of Artsakh to their ancestral homes.

Today, we honor the genocide of the Assyrian people, which claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands of Assyrians through massacres, forced deportations, and starvation and destroyed beloved cultural heritage. In honoring the Assyrian Genocide, we recognize the shared history of persecution that binds our peoples. We acknowledge the pain and suffering endured by the Assyrian community and stand in solidarity with their descendants. Not only is today a day to remember the past atrocities, but it is a day to commit to ensuring that horrors such as these are never repeated.
The stakes have never been higher for Armenian voices to be heard. With Nevada's roughly 35,000 Armenians poised to cast their ballots in this year's upcoming Presidential elections, YOU have a chance to define the future of your community, American politics and its fair representation of Armenian interests, and the US' role in foreign policy.
Will you make your voice heard?
Addressing Azerbaijan's criminal actions against the Armenian People and destruction of the Armenian Homeland, it is important to highlight that Aliyev's war crimes have dire environmental impacts. As Azerbaijan greenwashes its genocidal reputation by hosting the Climate Change Conference, who will hold Aliyev accountable for deploying white phosphorous gas against Armenian civilians and forces—a violation of international law—and destroying the treasured ecology of Artsakh in the process?
Azerbaijan's move to host the Climate Change Conference is a clear move to greenwash its reputation as a genocidal petro-dictatorship. Don't let the world forget that Aliyev is subverting the conversation surrounding climate change to erase Azerbaijan's extensive war crimes and environmental damages, and the UN and international community are enabling him.
CA Senators Portantino and Scott Wilk, as well as other members of the Select Committee on California, Armenia, and Artsakh Mutual Trade, Art, and Cultural Exchange have submitted a powerful letter to the Biden Administration calling for urgent and meaningful support for Artsakh's displaced Armenians and Azerbaijan's illegally-detained Armenian POWs.
The ANCA-WR applauds the principled stand and leadership of Senators Portantino and Wilk and urges public officials to commit to further engagement toward relief and accountability efforts.
With Azerbaijan hosting the Climate Change Conference, Aliyev aims to sidestep accountability for Azerbaijan's climate and humanitarian crimes.
Don't let the world forget—demand justice and hold Azerbaijan accountable for its crimes against humanity and the environment.
As the world observed the International Day for Criminal Justice on July 17, the Armenian National Committee of America - Western Region (ANCA-WR) urgently calls for the International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecution of Azerbaijani officials led by Ilham Aliyev for war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide committed during and after the 44-Day War in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh), including the genocidal blockade of Nagorno-Karabakh between 2022 and 2023, and the ongoing ethnic cleansing.

On this International Criminal Justice Day, the ANCA-WR amplifies its call for justice, demanding accountability for Ilham Aliyev’s heinous crimes against the Armenian people.
We demand that the international community recognizes the genocidal ethnic cleansing of Artsakh by Aliyev’s kleptocratic regime. We urge the global community to stand with us in advocating for the release of Armenian POWs, illegally detained and tortured by Azerbaijan's corrupt judicial system.
Let us stand together in condemning these continued human rights violations and create a future grounded in the unconditional justice and respect for human rights.
ANCA Western Region is proud continue to speak at AYF Camp as part of the camp’s exemplary programming to instill a love for the Armenian identity, a strong sense of community with other young Armenians, and a duty to protect the Armenian Homeland.
ANCA-WR Executive Director Sarkis Balkhian and Media and Communications Coordinator Edward Barsoumian were honored to engage with the future of Armenian activism at AYF Camp, and the ANCA-WR looks forward to many more opportunities to collaborate and empower our youth in the future.
Contact your Congressmembers TODAY to urge for their immediate support for H Res 1327 which would classify Azerbaijan's targeted violence against Armenians in Artsakh as acts of ethnic cleansing, and impose sweeping sanctions on the Aliyev regime, while providing meaningful support for displaced Artsakh Armenians.
