Did you know that not all Omega-3s are created equal?
Omega-3s need to be taken in the purest form for the best eye results. They also need to have EPA and DHA, which are highly unsaturated fats, to support eye comfort. Over-the-counter omega-3s do not provide proper absorption in the body because they are synthetic and do not have enough EPA and DHA.
So, patients may find themselves taking 40 capsules of OTC vitamins to get the same benefits as taking 3 doctor prescribed omega-3s.

Here at Rosley Eyecare, we provide patients the opportunity to elevate their ocular health evaluation through the iWellness scan. This cross-sectional scan allows Drs. Bak & Ngo to assess retinal structures, retinal thickness, and ganglion cell complex thickness which allows for earlier diagnosis of ocular diseases. This is particularly useful since the eye is such a small but complex organ with a retinal thickness of ~250 micrometers!

While patient response makes an exam go more smoothly, there are alternative methods of assessing vision and ocular health that are objective based, especially useful with children, patients with disabilities, and unresponsive geriatric patients. One example would be Lea paddles that can give us an understanding of how well patients can see! Other objective testing includes retinoscopy and scleral depression.
