University Park Neighborhoods
Neighbors of northern Grand Forks, taking action together to improve our great neighborhood. The centerpiece of our neighborhoods is University Park.
Neighbors living between west of Columbia, east of Downtown, north of Demers, & south of Gateway, taking action to improve our community. Where we live connects the University of North Dakota campus to historic downtown and the near north neighborhoods. Weโre interested in community-built initiatives to improve quality of living throughout our neighborhoods, from infrastructure and transportation
University Park Neighborhoods newsletters contain notes from recent meetings, updates on future goals, and links to upcoming events.
DM us on Facebook or send us an email to get involved or discuss launching any programs YOU want to see happen in the neighborhood.
We are so proud of our role in this work for our community!

Just a reminder of some parking rules. In Grand Forks, you are not allowed to park vehicles in your front yard unless you have a variance granted by the city council. The front yard is generally the portion of the yard that the front door faces, spanning from one property line to the other (for a full definition please read City Ordinance 18-0204). Additionally, parking is not allowed on the berm unless you have a variance from city council (the berm is the area of space between the curb and the sidewalk, according to common Grand Forks, ND vernacular).
We are so excited to announce that Larry BARKsy, who lives nearby University Park, won August's Celebrate the Neighborhood contest, under the theme "cutest pets" with a resounding 102 votes. Thanks again to this month's sponsors!

Important housing survey for the community ! Take and share with your friends.
North Dakotans across the state are coming together to increase access to housing that is affordable. As we do this work, we'd like to hear your thoughts and ideas about housing in North Dakota. Take our survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/7GFM38R

Lake Agassiz PTO needs your help! We have had 3 long-term board members with kids who have aged out of Lake Agassiz. Every single position on our board is open.
PTO is run by parent volunteers, and without parent support, there will be no PTO.
Without a PTO there will be no fundraisers at the school anymore. Money from school fundraisers helps pay for field trips, supplies for field day, tie-dye shirts for the kindergarteners, 5th grade celebration cake, the cement slab for the basketball hoops, and so many other things.
We do have a fall fundraiser set up that was planned at the end of last year. We are in desperate need of help in the mornings before school to collect money and get students more coupon books if needed.
It would break our hearts to no longer have an active PTO but we cannot do it without volunteers. Over the last 4 years, not a single parent has joined and become an active member of the PTO.
And we're rolling (rolling), Rolling, yeah (rolling)....
Rolling on the River marathon, that is. Registration is still open for this fun event happening Saturday, August 17. Registration is available at https://gfinline.com. Sorry, the Ike & Tina R***e and Creedence Clearwater Revival won't be there, but it's still going to be awesome!
