This interactive training session will explore strategies to help your clients maximize their charitable giving while minimizing tax liabilities. We'll cover a variety of assets and discuss giving tools and strategies like charitable trusts, full/partial gifts of appreciated assets, and donor-advised funds.

Using those giving tools, we'll walk through various case studies to illustrate how you can work with your clients to create customized giving solutions. The session will conclude with tips for effectively engaging clients and partnering with local foundations to enhance your overall client service.

The event will conclude with a networking social, so you can interact with colleagues and fellow professionals in a relaxed atmosphere.

The Women’s Fund Grant Program will award grants around $5,000 to eligible nonprofits and businesses for projects that empower women and girls to achieve economic, social, and political equity.

This year’s theme, Ready Set Grow, is designed to empower participants with essential leadership skills through a lineup of engaging programs and inspiring speakers.

Each fall the Academy selects a cohort of 20 applicants, from Grand Forks County or Polk County to participate in 38 hours of free, in-depth professional development. Sessions include the Clifton StrengthsFinder assessment, personal brand development, meaningful mentorship, and financial readiness.

Welcome to the team, Emberly Lietz! Last week, Emberly joined the Community Foundation as our new Development Director, and we couldn't be more excited!

Emberly is a proud graduate of the University of North Dakota and a dedicated advocate for humanity, community, and business. She has a diverse background in volunteerism and extensive experience in member and donor relations, fundraising, and event planning.

Emberly has served as executive director of the Grafton Area Chamber of Commerce, membership director at The Chamber - Grand Forks/East Grand Forks, and director of development at CVIC. Through her new role as Development Director at the Community Foundation, Emberly remains committed to driving impactful initiatives and fostering positive change in her community.

In addition, Emberly owns and operates The Lake House Retreat in Erskine, MN, and is embracing a new phase of life as a “downtowner” in Grand Forks and an empty nester of four incredible adult children.

The Community Opportunity Grant Program is now open for applications! The program provides grants up to $5,000 to eligible nonprofits, libraries, schools, and more for projects in the areas of:

As we wrap up a great season, we are sending bonus thanks out to all the community donors and supporters who made things possible!! This year that included a grant from the Women’s Fund, through the Community Foundation. This grant allowed performance and purchase of several historic works by women, including Louise Farrenc Overture No. 1 and a Cécile Chaminade Scherzo - music that was performed and shared with hundreds of audience members in person, on performance tours, and online. We also ❤️ our connected community! Coaches like Lisa Bost (pictured with the NVYO Symphony flute section) inspire students to higher levels of musicianship, too! Thanks for the memories, and the music! 🎶

Looking to enhance your professional development and leadership skills? The Women’s Fund Leadership Academy offers the perfect opportunity for you to grow!

Each Fall, the Academy selects a cohort of 20 women from the Greater Grand Forks Region. The Women’s Fund invests in each participant by offering 24 to 38 hours of free, in-depth leadership training and professional development. Applications open on July 1st, we encourage all women aged 18 and above residing in Grand Forks County to apply!
