Binders (the kind for mopping up the “bad guys” and showing them the door, not the ones you use to file papers away!) are only used during cleanses, right? WRONG!

In fact, there are many situations outside of a gut reset that can benefit from the use of a binder.

You know the jingle: “nausea, heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach, diarrhea”? Instead of reaching for that oh-so-famous pink liquid, a binder can go in and help stop something in the gut ASAP. Here are some common situations where binders can help.

👉 Stomach Bug
You grab a sandwich from the deli, but the guy behind the counter just wiped his nose with his hand before making it. A few hours later, your stomach starts to revolt.

Or the ever so famous, 3 am vomit from your toddler. Turns out, the stomach flu is going around daycare…

👉 Food Sensitivities
You order a salad at a restaurant, but they accidentally toss in some dressing that contains dairy, even though you specifically asked for no dairy. Later, your stomach lets you know that the “mistake” was felt loud and clear.

👉 Toxic Exposure
Your local park recently had a turf treatment to control weeds, and the grounds crew used a strong herbicide. You were excited to take your dog for a walk and let your kids play on the grass. But as soon as you arrived, you noticed a strong chemical smell in the air. Later that evening, both you and your kids develop headaches and feel nauseous.

Or maybe you use a non-stick frying pan for cooking every day, and over time, the coating on the pan begins to wear down. Your hormones have been off lately, and headaches are becoming more common.

👉 Overindulgence
You open a bag of chips “just to have a few” while watching a movie. But before you know it, the whole bag is gone—and now you’re staring at the empty bag, wondering if your stomach has expanded to the size of the couch.

👉 Traveling
This is something our entire team makes sure we take when traveling. No one wants to have a vacation ruined because of a bug, food poisoning, or a toxic exposure.

Enter GI Detox+ from Biocidin Botanicals. This product reduces bloating and gas, supports mental clarity, helps neutralize histamine, aids in the clearance of mold metabolites, balances microorganisms in the body, and binds up the mess from biofilms.

The multi-ingredient formulation provides broader activity than a single-ingredient product, meaning your day is saved—no matter how it tries to unravel. GI Detox+ to the rescue!

The best part? You can take it preventatively in the case where the stomach flu is going around. It can also be opened up and sprinkled in water to create “magic black water” as Keri calls it, for your kids to drink. With no taste!

It is safe for all ages and pregnancy, too. Dehydration in pregnancy is a big risk for mom and baby, so having this on hand is a great option if you get hit with the flu.

Stop by and let our team help guide you on how to dose and safely use it. You won’t ever go without it again! 🙌

Five years.

In some ways, that doesn't seem like a very long time. But when almost half of small-businesses fail within the first five years, it feels significant. And when I think back on all that has changed in that time, both at NFM and personally, holy cow.

It's the big things--taking a giant leap of faith to open a practice from the ground up. (While pregnant with our second child.) Starting as the only employee, to a team of seven incredible humans. (And growing!) Three moves to accommodate the need for more space. Expanded services and offerings. Growing our reputation not just locally, but across the US. And all of the exciting things planned for this next year. (Stay tuned. Our biggest changes, yet!)

But it's really all the little things. The stuff that happens when no one is looking. The faith and encouragement from family to 'go for it' initially, with zero assurance of success. Weekends at the office to catch up. Sacrificing two maternity leaves. Time away from home to attend conferences. Late nights reading endless research studies. The 'pick me ups' from my team and closest relationships, when the load feels too heavy. The celebration when someone hasn't found answers, and together we uncover the reasons behind their suffering. Enduring the backlash, but continuing on because the list of patient success stories is endless. And waking up each day with purpose. To use the gifts God has entrusted me with. To really listen to my patients. To offer them the hope they desperately need.

The truth is, it's not me. I’m not any better or more special than any one of you. To quote a favorite song of mine--"It's not because I'm worthy. It's all because of mercy." I would not be celebrating five years if it weren't for the steadfast assurance and grace from above.

So today, on this exciting day, I am thanking our Lord for all of it. The challenges, the messy, and the beautiful. My family, for their endless support of my big ideas. My amazing work family. And I am thanking YOU! Because without your love and support, we'd be part of a statistic. Cheers to getting to this point together! Cheers to many more years of true health and healing!

Yours in health,
Keri 🩵

Sickening, right? 😬

With almost 40% of children overweight and numerous children on meds for hyperactivity, the last thing we need is MORE sugar! Our diets daily already have enough!

Halloween is almost here, so we thought we’d share some ways to combat the sugar craze. (And processed seed oils and food dyes that come with it, too!)

Here are a few ideas on how to have a fun AND healthy Halloween with your kids!
🎃 Make a Swap: allow your children to pick a few of their favorites, but trade the rest in and pick out a new toy or game instead. Or plan a fun day with them going to the movies, painting, or going bowling.
🎃 Have alternatives available that are still fun! Some brands we love are Yum Earth and Unreal. Yum Earth has so many options that “mimic” the classic candies like M&Ms, Skittles, SourPatch Kids, suckers, jelly beans, and more.
🎃 Instead of candy, pass out bubbles, glow sticks, popcorn, stickers, balloons, etc.

It’s important to still have fun with your kids, but is it worth compromising their health in the process? Balance. It is all about balance. Have a safe and Happy Halloween!

It's finally here! 🥰

You've all been waiting, and the significantly bigger container of PUR-C has arrived at NFM. If you and your family haven't been using this, you're really missing out. (And likely catching all the viruses and yuck going around...)

Our entire team would agree this is our must-have supplement. AND you're getting almost an extra month of the optimal 1 tsp/day dosing, for only $30 more! 🤯

Why is Vitamin C Important?
Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that helps protect cells from damage caused by free radicals. Optimal levels of sodium ascorbate contribute to the normal functioning of white blood cells and enhance the immune response to infections or chronic diseases. It is also essential for collagen formation, wound healing, iron absorption, cardiovascular health, hormonal balance and mood regulation–we need it for over 300 processes daily!

Why is our PUR-C worth the hype?
The benefits of PUR-C are endless! Regular PUR-C consumption leads to increased serum vitamin C levels, reduced inflammation, minimized risk of infections, reduced bacterial load, mitigation and resolution of viral and bacterial infections, neutralized toxins and pathogens and optimized mitochondrial function.

PUR-C is in the most bioavailable form (sodium ascorbate) maximizing absorption by your body! It is important to use the sodium ascorbate form of vitamin C rather than ascorbic acid–which is actually the oxidized form of vitamin C that can lead to more damage. Our cells can only absorb the sodium ascorbate form!

If we haven't convinced you, ask any of our patients. They swear by our PUR-C to keep them and their families healthy year round. 🩵

It’s safe to say that we have heard about the benefits of pre and pro-biotics but lets take it a step further and discuss postbiotics, which definitely don't get enough attention!

Prebiotics are the fibers from the foods we eat that fuel your gut microbes. With these prebiotics, the gut is strengthened, and then can do its job to make postbiotics, which actually do all the work! Examples of prebiotic rich foods include apples, almonds, beans, broccoli, garlic, oats, mushrooms, ground flax, chia seeds, etc.

Probiotics are beneficial microorganisms that live in our gut. When we take probiotic supplements, they can support the bacteria that live with us, especially when challenged by antibiotics (which wipe out your good AND bad gut microbes), for example.

Probiotics are comparable to a substitute teacher, they do their job and then they leave. Like most things, there is a time and a place for probiotics but they are typically not necessary for daily use. We recommend them in the case of antibiotic use, or for recovery following a gastrointestinal bug/parasite or travelers diarrhea. Probiotics commonly seen in supplements are bifidobacteria and lactobacillus. Yogurt is commonly known for containing probiotics.

Postbiotics include enzymes, short chain fatty acids, exopolysacharides, vitamins, amino acids, etc. The fermentation of prebiotic fibers results in the production of postbiotic short chain fatty acids which have numerous health benefits!

Most importantly, they support a healthy inflammatory response in the gut, help regulate blood sugar and promote healthy DNA! Sources of postbiotics are found in fermented foods. Grains, potatoes and legumes contain resistant starches which ferment in the colon and produce short chain fatty acids. Other foods to optimize postbiotic production include bananas (especially underripe), onions, and asparagus.

If you are focusing on nutrient dense foods and a colorful variety, we feel confident in telling you that you can ditch your daily probiotic! Focus on eating a variety of fruits and veggies (literally, a variety! Your microbiome LOVES when you introduce new foods and rotate your consumption of them). And aim for 5-6 different colors per day!

With the majority of your immune function stemming from the gut, it is vital to show your microbes some love! It is not uncommon for us to overthink how to take care of ourselves, so let's get back to the basics and focus on eating nutrient dense foods. The saying “you are what you eat” could not be more true! If we simply provide our bodies with plenty of healthy nutrients, they will show us love in return.

We are concerned with our kids’ grades. The school they attend. Their athletic abilities and teams they play on. We care about their clothes and if they “fit in.” Who their friends are. And how many “likes” their cute faces get on social media. (Which—don’t get us started on this one…)

But do we care about what we are nourishing their miraculous and growing bodies with? Or do they dictate what they eat?

“Oh it’s just a little food dye. It’s just a little sugar. It’s just a little bit of chemicals. It’s just a little bit of cancer causing additives. It’s just a little inflammatory oil. They need to be kids. They feel bad if their friends eat things they don’t.”

But it all adds up. And drastically impacts their health, ability to have kids one day, risk for chronic disease, behaviors in the classroom, performance on the field, and overall emotional wellbeing. It’s not just a little bit. It’s A LOT. And what you feed your kids is one of the most important things you can do as their parent. Yet are you making it a priority?

‼️ Almost 40% of kids are overweight or obese.
‼️ 30% of teens have pre-diabetes. (This was 11% in 2002.)
‼️ 1 in 36 kids are on the autism spectrum. (This was only 1 in 150 in 2000.)
‼️ 1 in 2 of us will get cancer in our lifetime. And the risk has drastically gone up in children.
‼️ Mental illness and autoimmune diseases are rising at unheard of rates.

Enough is enough. It’s time to prioritize our kids. It’s time to care more about having healthy meals at home as a family, instead of rushing to the next practice or event every night.

With countless options lining the shelves of stores and online retailers, it’s easy to assume that all supplements are created equal. However, the reality is much more complex. When it comes to supplements, quality matters—and often, cheaper is not better.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that the supplement industry is booming. However, with this growth comes a flood of products, many of which lack the necessary oversight and quality control. This raises an important question: how can we differentiate between high-quality supplements and those that may be more harmful than beneficial?

Many over-the-counter supplements boast impressive marketing claims that appeal to our desires for quick fixes and miracle solutions. We get it! Who wouldn’t want to feel better overnight?

Unfortunately, products can be marketed with claims that lack solid scientific backing. Terms like “natural,” “pure,” “proven,” and even “liposomal” are not strictly regulated, leading consumers to think they’re making informed choices when they may not be.

Additionally, the quality of ingredients used in supplements can vary dramatically. Cheaper brands may use lower-grade materials or fillers that can dilute the effectiveness of the active ingredients.

In some cases, these ingredients can be downright harmful. This raises concerns about purity and safety – given we already live in a toxic world, why add to our ever-growing toxic burden?

And this isn’t just us making false claims. Numerous studies have found that OTC supplements are not what they appear:

👉 A study found that over 28% of dietary supplements contain undisclosed or banned substances.
👉 Another study found that 89% of dietary and sports supplements did not accurately label their ingredients.
👉 And finally, a study found that many sports supplements have NO trace of their key ingredients.

We’re certain you’ve heard about the very advertised colostrum craze that’s happening right now. We’re here to tell you, it may not be worth the hype.

While it may help some, it’s not for everyone. Even the most popular colostrum products contain dairy, which a large majority of individuals don’t tolerate well and can actually be inflammatory. Manufacturing practices can also vary widely by colostrum products, meaning even the best colostrum you can find will likely contain half the protein concentration and inadequate amounts of IgG support.

If you find yourself not seeing the benefits you were hoping for from your colostrum, this is likely why. 😬

We have a tried and true product that is free of dairy and other top allergens and provides over the top immune support!

IgGI Shield is serum-derived bovine immunoglobulin protein isolate. It combines:
🩵 Immunoglobulin G
🩵 ImmunoLin
🩵 N-acetyl-D-glucosamine

These all support the structure of the cells of the intestinal lining and promote a healthy inflammatory response in the GI tract.

How does it work? It helps with binding and neutralizing the opportunistic bacterial antigens in the gut (specifically targeting LPS, C. Diff, E. Coli, H. Pylori, gliadin and staph, etc.)!

It supports the gut barrier and helps to heal the loose/leaky junctions (leaky gut). When these tight junctions are secure, water and nutrient absorption is optimized, and systemic inflammatory responses are decreased.

Secretory IgA promotes the clearance of antigens and pathogenic organisms from the intestinal lumen and serves as our first line of defense. On a stool study, secretory IgA is a measure of the size of the immune response in the gut. When this is low, we love IgGI Shield to build this immune response back up!

Best mixed in room temp water. Make sure water temp does not exceed 160 degrees as this denatures the protein. Ideal use is daily for 3 months. But best to work with us to determine your specific needs. Stop by and see it for yourself!

"I struggled with gut/bowel issues for as long as I can remember (over 35 years).

Constipation, explosive diarrhea, gas, bloating…it was a vicious cycle that had me taking Imodium one day then Dulcolax a few days later, always having to carry some sort of anti-gas medicine with me. I would have anxiety when traveling (would there be a bathroom) and never knowing what foods or drinks would cause me issues.

My journey with NFM began in December 2023 with Keri listening to my story and all my issues/concerns. She ordered lab work and a stool study that revealed all sorts of issues.

I immediately began taking the supplements she recommended and reluctantly avoiding gluten. Giving up gluten was a gradual thing for me but once my gut started to heal I realized that gluten set me back in my gut healing goal.

I have been on maintenance for about 4 months. I can honestly say my life has been changed by following Keri’s protocol and putting in the work. I am no longer in a cycle of constipation, explosive diarrhea, gas, bloating, etc. If I do have a day where my gut feels off, I can usually pinpoint the reason.

I highly recommend NFM if you aren’t feeling heard by your current provider and want answers. Keri and her staff will provide you with the tools and support to reach your optimal health, you simply have to do the work." SJ 💙

Think twice when reaching for that bottle of fish oil or omega 3’s & 6’s at the store.

A recent study found that almost half of all advertised fish oil is rancid. The processing that occurs in the production of these oil supplements can change their molecular configuration and even negate their health benefits.

Most commercial fish oils are processed using high heat which destroys the fatty acids and leads to the formation of aldehydes (cousins of formaldehyde). This then leads to added inflammation in the body. Inflammatory oils in our diet significantly make all of this worse. ❌

What do we love in place of omegas? Phospholipids, specifically phosphatidylcholine.

A phospholipid is a major component of each of your cell membranes. It is made up of a bilayer that acts as a barrier to the passage of molecules. This passageway is selective and only allows certain materials and substances through.

So, what does this have to do with phosphatidylcholine (PC)? PC is one type of phospholipid that contributes to cellular membrane structure and function. It supports the elimination of waste from cells while optimizing nutrient utilization.

Our levels of PC decrease with age, injury, toxin exposure, pesticides and lack of nutrient dense diet.

When we are supporting our mitochondria by consuming PC, energy production and resilience are multiplied. In addition to these benefits, PC is essential for heart, liver and gut health. PC makes up 90% of the phospholipids in the intestinal mucosa, protecting the body from pathogens!

PC is a MUST for those trying to conceive, during pregnancy and infant development. It promotes fetal lung development and growth as well as supports breastfeeding. When a woman is pregnant, she gives all her phospholipids to the developing baby. In fact, this is a common cause of morning sickness/hyperemesis! Your cells are spilling over without the support of their phospholipid membranes.

PC also plays an essential role in lessening brain fog and restoring mental clarity in postmenopausal women.

Following the decline in estrogen levels during this time, cognitive challenges often arise. An enzyme known as phosphatidylethanolamine N-methyltransfertase (PEMT) is activated by estrogen, therefore ensuring adequate production of phosphatidylcholine. With the lack of estrogen that is present during menopause, this enzyme activation does not occur resulting in diminished brain function.

As quite literally building blocks for our cells, PC has endless benefits. Unfortunately, achieving adequate levels of PC through diet alone can be difficult. Some sources of PC include high-quality red meat, eggs, fish, organic soybeans, and sunflower seeds.

Supplementation of PC is an important aspect of ensuring overall health and reviving all of your cells, especially those in the brain! We carry the highest quality of PC at the clinic. And it’s beneficial for the entire family!

Ditch the omegas. They are causing more harm than good. Try our BodyBio PC instead!

According to the World Health Organization, up to 75% of American adults are deficient in magnesium. And a deficiency in this important nutrient makes you twice as likely to die as other people, according to a study published in The Journal of Intensive Care Medicine. Yet we almost guarantee your doctor has never mentioned it.

👉 Constipated? Muscle cramps? Poor sleep? You need magnesium.
👉 Headaches? Stressed? Menstrual cramps? You need magnesium.
👉 High blood pressure? Osteoporosis? Anxious? You need magnesium.
👉 Pregnant? You *desperately* need magnesium.

You get the idea. This list could go on and on.

Magnesium is responsible for over 600 enzyme reactions daily and is found in all of your tissues. Think of magnesium as the "relaxation" mineral. Anything that is crampy, irritable, tight, and stiff is a sign of magnesium deficiency.

And don't just buy the magnesium you find over the counter. ❌
1. We cannot at all trust that is actually what is in it. (This is true for any OTC supplement.)
2. It is likely that it is magnesium oxide or magnesium citrate. Both are meant to contract your bowels, and can cause very loose stools as a result. Great for someone who is chronically constipated, but we prefer a blend of the various magnesium forms instead. All 6 forms have different functions in the body.

We carry three varieties in our office. And generally 400mg per day is a good starting dose. But some of us have much higher magnesium needs and require up to 1,200mg per day! Stop by and our team can help you decide which one is best for you.

Do you smell? And I don’t mean stinky. Do you smell like a field full of flowers, a woody forest, or maybe a burst of citrus or vanilla notes? I’m talking about fragrance. The new second-hand smoke. 😳

I bet most of us can think of someone that leaves a trail of their perfume or cologne wherever they go. But if they knew the risks associated with smelling “good”, they would think twice.

Fragrance is everywhere these days! Wall flowers, scented candles or melting wax, car fresheners, cleaning products, scented trash bags, and more. But all of these are significantly damaging your health! They are driving a process called “endocrine disruption.” Aka–causing hormonal imbalance.

The chemicals in fragrance mimic our hormones, or even block them completely, leading to estrogen dominance, infertility, increased cancer-risk, reproductive issues, developmental disorders, behavior issues in children, and mood imbalances.

In fact, a group of researchers looked at several daycare centers around a major city and found that they all used fragrance of some sort. Which releases volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The outcome? Significant increases in pediatric cancers amongst the daycare children. Sickening, right? And those poor, young teachers. The likelihood of them having issues getting pregnant later in life, is high.

Another study in 2024 found that the famous perfumes tested were all found to be endocrine disruptors–causing hormonal imbalances, including the thyroid.

The rise in breast cancer among women is alarming. And we’re seeing so much more of it in younger women. But when you consider the amount of chemicals women put on their skin daily (an average of over 270 before ever leaving the house) and add in candles or air fresheners, you’re asking for your body to develop cancer.

It’s been awhile! So I thought I’d share a little about me and the “why” behind my practice. 🩺

A diagnosis of thyroid cancer in college, was the point my jenga tower crashed. Prior to that, my body tried to get my attention with migraines, sinus issues, constipation, totally imbalanced hormones, Hashimoto’s, and fatigue. Finally, my body had enough, and I was told, “It’s cancer.”

There are SO many things I would change, when looking back on my timeline. But it’s all truly been a blessing. One that led me to Functional Medicine. I have used my trials and turned them into testimonies. Something almost all of us practicing integrative medicine have in common—our own story where conventional medicine failed us. And when searching for answers, true healing was found by getting to the root causes.

Spending each day with my patients, walking the journey with them to optimal health, is such an honor. I’ll forever be grateful to them for trusting me with this task. 🤍

When I’m not diagnosing and treating, you’ll find me enjoying the simple things—my morning tea, a sporting event, the laughter and snuggles of our children, anything outdoors, and a good board game. I’m always ready for a new adventure, whether it’s discovering cutting-edge treatments or exploring the world. I believe in blending compassion with a touch of humor. And that authenticity is beautiful. ✨

In Health,
Keri

When you take birth control pills, it shuts down the brain's communication to the ovaries.

The pills flood the body with high doses of artificial estrogen and progesterone (some pills are progesterone only), causing our natural production of hormones to turn off. This prevents ovulation and thins the uterine lining. Which in turn leads to hormonal imbalance and often estrogen dominance.

That week you take the white pills? Your body quite literally screams at you for ripping the hormones away, and bleeds. This is NOT a period. This is a withdrawal bleed. Therefore, you have no idea what your periods or hormones are actually doing behind the scenes.

Birth control, in all sense of the word, is a bandaid for your hormonal imbalance symptoms. While it might help manage some of the nagging symptoms you were experiencing prior, it's actually just covering them up for you to deal with later. Usually when you're trying to conceive. Which is now incredibly more challenging thanks to years of this bandaid.

And don't get us started on the chronic disease it influences, the depletion of important nutrients, imbalance of others, impact on thyroid hormones, your immune system, blood clots, and microbiome imbalance. Discussing all of this with your provider before starting birth control is imperative. THIS is informed consent. This is the information you deserve to know as a female.

We love helping women achieve true hormonal balance, instead of just putting a pharmaceutical bandaid on top.

Have you ever thought about that word, disease? If you separate it into its parts you get, dis- and -ease.

Britannica defines it as: “Disease– any harmful deviation from the normal structural or functional state of an organism, generally associated with certain signs and symptoms and differing in nature from physical injury. A diseased organism commonly exhibits signs or symptoms indicative of its abnormal state. Thus, the normal condition of an organism must be understood in order to recognize the hallmarks of disease.”

Simply put, it is to stray from ease. A change from the normal, easy functioning of our bodies.

To fully understand what this all means, we must be able to recognize what “normal” is for human functioning. And “normal” is the optimal functioning of an organism–aka health. How God designed us to function.

Our body is made up of approximately 100 trillion cells. And when there is a disturbance to the integrity of our entire system and its functioning, the body must compensate to establish a new balance. It must seek to reestablish homeostasis. Nature and our innate physiology is always working to find balance and a true “cure”. It doesn’t want to dysfunction on purpose.

So often we go to a doctor and are told we have a disease. But did that diagnosis define WHY that was happening in the first place? No. It is just a label that will be tamed with pharmaceutical drugs. The root cause won’t be investigated.

Putting it all together…
Imagine your arteries are plugged from eating foods that weren’t designed for optimal functioning. Your body must increase blood pressure to compensate for this blockage. This gets labeled as “hypertension”. But this really isn’t a disease. It is a corrective measure by the body, in order to keep us alive. Without that increase in blood pressure, your body would not receive blood flow to its organs, necessary for survival. So yes, while it is hypertension, it is simply a stray from the ease of functioning. “Dis-ease.”

Similar to any diseases with -itis at the end. The suffix “itis” translates to “inflammation.” You’ve likely heard of colitis, bronchitis, tonsillitis, gastritis, cystitis, etc. All of these are ways the body expresses that there is inflammation in that area. Again, they do NOTHING to tell us WHY that inflammation started in the first place.

And before we are officially diagnosed with something, the first signs are not diabetes or an auto-immune disease. It’s having chronic migraines, irregular periods, acne, bloating, constipation, memory loss, fatigue, toxic relationships without boundaries, poor sleep, etc. All of these (and many more) are ways the body is trying to get our attention. Ways it is compensating and dysfunctioning as a result of abusing it over and over with poor lifestyle choices.

In order to thrive, we MUST return to the laws that govern our biology. It’s truly basic physiology. When we do this, there is no dysfunction. And when there is no dysfunction, there is no disease.

All of the PA students we instruct, echo the same sentiment, “Wow! I really need to brush up on my physiology. I haven’t seen these pathways since I took that class.” It’s sad, really. The basics have been lost in the shuffle of which pharmaceutical drug best matches the symptoms. We have completely forgotten about how the body functions.

Nebraska Functional Medicine - Coming November 1, 2019

Functional Medicine determines how and why illness occurs and restores health by addressing the root causes of disease for each individual.

The Functional Medicine model is an individualized, patient-centered, science-based approach that empowers patients and practitioners to work together to address the underlying causes of disease and promote optimal wellness. It requires a detailed understanding of each patient’s genetic, biochemical, and lifestyle factors and leverages that data to direct personalized treatment plans that lead to improved patient outcomes.
By addressing root cause, rather than symptoms, practitioners become oriented to identifying the complexity of disease. They may find one condition has many different causes and, likewise, one cause may result in many different conditions. As a result, Functional Medicine treatment targets the specific manifestations of disease in each individual.
