June 19, Grand Prairie ISD celebrates Juneteenth, which marks the end of slavery in the USA. Please join GPISD as we celebrate equality and the numerous positive achievements of African Americans in our world.
In honor and recognition of Juneteenth, all campuses and district offices will be closed on Wednesday, June 19, and will return to the regular summer hours schedule on Thursday, June 20.

Alexander Miranda is a senior in the Automotive Technology pathway of the Academy of Human Services and Engineering. While at Dubiski, Alexander was able to attain his OSHA safety course, Ford Diesel Engine Theory, ASE certifications, Ford: Basic tire and wheel service, Ford: Tire inspection and Maintenance, Ford: Automotive measuring tools, Ford: Steering suspension and alignment, Ford: Engine Operation Diagnoses & Repair, Ford: HVAC Fundamentals, Ford: Manual Transmission and Transaxle Operation, and Ford: Automatic Transmission Electrical Components certifications. Alexander was a member of SkillsUSA and interned at Ricks Tire & Auto Service under car concepts. After graduation, Alexander plans to stay at his internship and attend Dallas College for general automotive technology. Alya Ramirez is a senior in the Health Science - CMA pathway of the Academy of Health Science and Engineering. While at Dubiski, Alya was able to attain certifications in OSHA 10-Hour General Industry (Healthcare), Cyber Safety Awareness Training, Interview skills, Communication Skills, Cybersecurity Essentials for work, Basic Life Support, HIPAA, and Bloodborne Pathogens. Alya interned at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Irving and assisted the nurse at Whitt Elementary. She earned a Top Hispanic Scholar award. After graduation, Alya plans to work over summer as a certified medical assistant and plans on going to Dallas College to pursue a degree in Sonography to become an ultrasound technician. Alya’s Senior quote is, “I am happy i had the opportunity to meet amazing people at Dubiski in these past 4 years. I am also very excited for the future ahead.” Congratulations, Alya!
Anett Alexandra Garza is a senior in the Media Technology pathway of the Academy of Business and Communications. While at Dubiski, Anett was a media tech intern for GPISD CTE and also earned Honorable Mention for Digital Media Showcase in freshman year of 2021 and received Student of Character Award in 4th nine weeks of the 2nd semester in May 2024. After graduation, Anett plans on working on personal animation projects over the summer and making stickers for her family business. Also, she is planning to going to Dallas College for two years to learn animation basics and enhance her skills, and then go to UTA to major in Art. Anett’s Senior quote is, “Although we have rough times, worse scenarios, just know that ‘Life’ is a beautiful gift by the memories of our grateful friends and family…and be blessed of who we are today with heart.” Congratulations, Anett!
Congratulations to Fathia Olasehinde for receiving the Run For the Wall annual scholarship. This scholarship is given from the Run For the Wall to a current senior based on an application and essay. Way to go, Fathia!
Ziaerra Miller is a senior in the Health Science - Pharmacy pathway of the Academy of Health Science and Engineering. While at Dubiski, Ziaerra was able to attain certifications in CPR and OSHA. Ziaerra was part of NAACP, HOSA, Model UN, SkillsUSA, NHS, Kindness Crew and a Junior Class Officer. She was named Sophomore of the Year, received a David Daniels Award, participated in community service with HOSA, NHS, and Mission Arlington. After graduation, Ziaerra plans to attend Texas Women’s University to major in Psychology to then going to go back to school so she can gain her PhD so she can become a Forensic Psychologist. Mayra Marin is a senior in the Cosmetology pathway of the Academy of Human Services and Transportation. While at Dubiski, Mayra was able to attain certifications in Principles of Cosmetology Design and Color Theory, Cyber Safety, Career Essentials - Nail care, OSHA 10 hour general industry, Employability/interview skills, and Career Essentials - Lash extension services. Mayra was named a Top Hispanic Scholar and competed in Skills USA nail care her junior and senior years. After graduation, Mayra plans to use her cosmetology license to specialize in nails, haircutting and lashes while studying at the University of Texas at Arlington to major in nursing and health. She plans on building a career as a cosmetic nurse and someday have her own clinic. Congratulations to Maely Sanchez-Fuentes for being the first recipient of the Jason Balsom Memorial scholarship. Jason was a Dubiski alumni from the Engineering program of study that passed away in January of this year. Jason's parents started the scholarship to honor his memory and to help Dubiski students, just like how Dubiski gave Jason a place to grow and find success. Congratulations, Maely!

Jonathan Machuca is a senior in the Aviation pathway of the Academy of Human Services and Transportation. While at Dubiski, Jonathan was able to attain his OSHA 10 Hour certification. Jonathan was a member of the Music Club, National Honor Society and interned with the Commemorative Air Force and Vought Restoration. Jonathan was awarded the Jeff Pino Scholarship. After graduation, Jonathan plans to attend flight school for his Pilots licenses and attend UT Arlington for Psychology. Amariau Lemuel is a senior in the Health Science - Phlebotomy pathway of the Academy of Heath Science and Engineering. While at Dubiski, Amariau was able to attain certifications in BLS/CPR, OSHA, and is a Certified Phlebotomist. Amariau interned at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center and Carter BloodCare. She was also part of National Honor Society and was Secretary of Model United Nations. She was awarded for Congress of Future Medical Physicians and is in the top 10% After graduation, Amariau plans to attend Texas A&M University to major in biochemistry and plans to go to medical school afterwards to become a dermatologist. Dayana Denise Piedra is a senior in the Business, Marketing, and Finance pathway of the Academy of Business Communications. While at Dubiski, Dayana was able to attain certifications in Principles of Business, Marketing, and Finance, Cyber Safety, Employability/Interview Skills, OSHA 10 hour- General Industry, Elements of Risk Management, Life & Health Essentials, Personal Auto Exposures, Commercial Casualty, and Personal Residential. She was part of SkillsUSA as Secretary (2022-2023). After graduation, Dayana plans to the University of Texas at Arlington, to double major in accounting and finance. Her eyes are set on that PhD in finance—she’s all about diving deep into the numbers and strategies. She is gearing up to climb that corporate ladder, aiming high for the top and can't wait to see where this journey takes her. She was also part of SkillsUSA, and a member of the Student Leadership Team. She was named a Top Hispanic Scholar, and CTE Junior of the Year. After graduation, Jennifer plans to attend work at a salon while attending Dallas college and majoring in chemistry. After getting her Associates, she plans to transfer to UTA to get her bachelor’s in hopes of becoming a cosmetic chemist.
