Attention Parents and 2024 graduates
At this time there is still no power at Texas Trust CU Theatre and Oncor has reported that the damage is extensive and there is no estimated time of restoration. Therefore, we are postponing today’s scheduled graduation until Friday, May 31. Both graduation ceremonies will take place at Ellis Davis Field House located at 9191 South Polk Street, Dallas, Texas 75232. Grand Prairie High School graduation will take place at 9:00 a.m. and South Grand Prairie High School graduation will take place at 1:00 p.m.
In addition, Thursday’s scheduled graduations will also take place at Ellis Davis Field House at the originally scheduled times.
We understand that graduation is a special time in the lives of our graduating seniors and their families. Our goal is to make sure we honor our graduates despite the fact that these circumstances are unfortunately out of our control. We are thankful to our friends at Dallas ISD who have graciously offered their facility to us.
Tickets that have been issued will be used for admittance to the venue. Upon arrival, there is no reserved seating, first come first served. Doors open one hour before each ceremony.
We appreciate your understanding and apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We look forward to seeing you at graduation Friday, May 31, 2024.

Attention SGPHS and GPHS senior class of 2024

Texas Trust CU Theatre, the location for tomorrow’s graduation ceremonies, does not currently have power due to the storms in North Texas last night. We have been working with Oncor and the City of Grand Prairie throughout the day in the hopes that power could be restored as quickly as possible. As many of you know, that has not yet happened. We will continue to monitor this situation and communicate with you by 9 a.m. Wednesday morning to let you know if we will be able to proceed with graduation as planned.

If power is not restored, we will reschedule tomorrow’s graduation ceremonies for Friday, May 31. The Grand Prairie High School graduation would be at 9:00 a.m. on Friday and the South Grand Prairie High School graduation would be at 1:00 p.m.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

Gopher families,

We are looking forward to a great last week of school here at Grand Prairie High School. To help us ensure a safe and successful last week of school, backpacks, drawstring bags, and large purses will not be allowed during the week of Tuesday, May 21st through Thursday, May 23rd.

This measure is being taken out of an abundance of caution in order to protect the safety of students and staff. Students will only need school-issued devices, a writing utensil, and semester exam review materials. Students can carry small hygiene bags or medical monitoring devices.

We appreciate your cooperation in this.

Let's have a great last week of school!

Laigha Boyle,
GPHS Principal

🎓We are so proud of Estiven!!!🎓

Estiven Manzanarez from Grand Prairie High School is the Senior Spotlight for today. Estiven worked diligently to overcome a language barrier that he faced when he started at GPHS, just three short years ago. He has become very active in AVID, Gopher Legacy, and LULAC. His heart is to leave a legacy for other newcomer students, so they know they can do anything they put their minds to. He would like to help other newcomers find their niche at GPHS, so they achieve success in their high school experience too. GPHSGophers
