What does it mean to be a pack leader?

A pack leader has the opportunity to lead, support, and welcome first year students here at Davenport University. Some of your duties would include being helpful, open, flexible, honest, and most importantly HAVING FUN with the new students! The story in this post gives you an idea of what you will be doing and how you can make a positive impact on students who are finding their way.

We have a great day planned for all of you today and cant wait to see you all make life long memories. We can no longer keep calm... Because Panther Prowl is officially 50 DAYS AWAY 😱!! We are sooooo excited to jumpstart your journey at DU, and we couldn’t be more excited to see how ready you all are. Panther Prowl begins on Wednesday, September 2nd so if you have not already... SIGN UP TODAY!!

Happy Monday Incoming Freshmen!! We are so excited about your arrival at Davenport this upcoming fall. A lot of students coming into their first-year have some built-up anxiety. So, here are a couple tips that we have prepared for you to enter your first-year at Davenport:

1.) GET GOOD SLEEP - Get some good quality sleep is important to look good. Make sure to get about 8 hours of sleep.
2.) DRESS WELL - Dressing defines who you are, and it gives a positive impression.
3.) BE ON TIME - Being punctual builds your self-confidence. Also, you do not want to miss important information.
4.) TAKE NOTES - Whether it be with a notebook or laptop, have a means of taking notes. It will save you!
5.) IT'S OKAY TO BE NERVOUS - Know that there are others with nervousness like you, so work with others to help fight it off.
6.) INTRODUCE YOURSELF - Find some tips on the internet to develop your elevator pitch and introduce yourself like a boss!
7.) EXPLORE CAMPUS - Explore campus before starting classes to understand the locations of common places you will be visiting.

We hope these tips will help you with combatting first-year student anxiety!
