It was a Harry Potter Themed party featuring the Sorting Hat! We had our guests Scout, the Gryffindor quidditch player, and Chip the Ravenclaw Headmaster celebrating their Halloween with us!

Hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend! Here’s a little glimpse into how we all spent the long weekend. As usual, we made the most of it!

I’m sure by now everyone has been informed of the parvo-like illness that is spreading around Michigan. This is a very contagious disease and has killed over 20 dogs and counting, with the most at risk being under 2 years old.

As exciting as it is to have the Hostel at full capacity, we are taking this matter very seriously. In response we will be limiting the number of guests we are accepting, and ask that for visits with us that the visiting dog quarantines prior to the requested booked stays.

We can all do our part to help slow the spread of this unknown virus by being extra precautious during this time and following these 3 rules:

1) Limit your dog's exposure to other dogs (IE no dog parks)
2) Try to prevent your dogs from smelling other dogs' f***s
3) Pick up your dog's f***l matter immediately

Today we had two early check-ins: a tan miniature Aussie named Chip and his 15 week old son Scout. Then a three time returning guest Shiloh arrived this afternoon, he’s a gorgeous Golden Doodle and a house favorite visitor. Basil and Megalodon welcomed them excitedly!

We also had a couple drop ins to some neighbors dogs for play time. Frankie the grey Aussie and Chico the 3/mo French Bulldog.

Tom, Finn, and Kona have been great hosts to them all!
