As our numbers have soares to max capacity, our training will continue to improve and make tweaks to make these goalies better. Which in the will make the better LEADERS, this camp is taking off into a new dimension. Making this a destination camp for all goalies. Bringing real camps back to the forefront where goalies can focus on their craft.

🚨 6x6 GOALIE CAMP STAFF INTRO 🚨

We are getting close to wrapping up our Staff Intros, we have many but each one is just as important as the next. Today we introduce you to JJ Martin. JJ plays for NDSU club team in the MCLA. He is the brother of Robert Martin who died by su***de in 2022, which has become a mission of ours with Goalies Matter. Last year JJ came to speak to the camp on mental health, but has turned into more than a speaker but a helluva coach. We all cope differently, but after last year at camp he has come to the realization that there's a larger family out that will support him mentally. He's a big kid himself and has learned to grow up faster than he thought, but that's part of the reason he gets along so well with the campers. To know more about JJ read his answers below:

1 - Best Part of Camp? when we go over the mental side of being a goalie, like with the sit-down where we all get into our groups and talk about things that as a goalie could affect us mentally, while also going over great drills and techniques so the campers are still able to improve their game.

2 - What you Bringing? For what I am bringing to the table I would just say wisdom. Kind of cliche but I have played in a lot of places, on a lot of different teams, and have experienced many hardships that a lot of people do not go through and I think having that has made me super knowledgeable on not only the position, but on the mental side too, like how to control your emotions, and how to connect with people who are going through things.

We are coming in HOT 🔥 this week as we introduce our seasoned ADULT Staff... 😂 We don't have many but they have a wealth of knowledge, experience and wisdom they share throughout camp that will help the younger generation what to prepare for in the future. Today we start with Chris Lemon, assistant coach for the girls team in Dexter, MI. Again we don't hire big names, we hire teachers who know how to get kids to understand. Chris has a wealth of information and has an edge to him that kids love. He's super energetic and just talking to him you can tell he's a goalie. To know.more about Chris read his answers below:

1 - Best part of camp: The best part of camp is dedicated and position specific training that is offered, all while in a safe and nurturing environment that promotes growth and enjoyment of the game. You can NOT get this anywhere else. Mic drop.

2 - What I am bringing to camp: An excitement to see how our returning campers have grown over the past year and to meet all of the new first time attendees. I am also bringing 14 years of coaching and passion for the sport, which is my fuel to show up early every day to support our campers.

My motto: Rage in the cage but peace in the crease!

Our next Staff Introduction is Matt Ferrari. This will be his 3rd camp with us, and he is truly an asset to this camp. One of the most passionate instructors we have. Read his answers below.

1) Best Part of Camp?? Honestly, it's hard to pick just one BEST part. If I had to choose one aspect, I'd say exposure to the position. By getting to meet so many other goalies from not only around the state of Michigan but around the country, 6x6 gives its campers such a unique chance to make some amazing new connections. Between the chance to see these new friends at summer tournaments as well as getting to learn more about the position by studying and hearing from goalies with different perspectives, 6x6 campers get to grow as goalies in a way that few others will get to experience.

2) What You Bringing?? Oh, energy for sure. I love lacrosse, and even more so, I love the goalie position. And you're telling me I get to coach exclusively lacrosse goalies for a week??? What on Earth could be better than this??????

🚨6x6 CAMP STAFF ALERT🚨

We are gonna kick off our Staff introductions by announcing our two interns who have the opportunity to learn how to coach and lead from our Expert Goalie Instructors to become future coaches and leaders.

Both of theses interns have been former campers and have worked with 6x6 over the years. They have both worked extremely hard, excelled at their craft, and both are heading of to amazing programs.

Easton Beukema was not only a former camper and student but was also a 6x6 "Goalie Strong" Camp MVP. He has clearly demonstrated his ability to be resilient, discipline, respectful, and has good character. We are lucky to have him become an intern this summer and the best thing about his is his ability to connect with kids. Next year he will be heading off to D2 Northwood University.

Congratulations E!!!

Anabelle Letts was also a former camper and has a persistence about not only learning the position but to also give back. She loves to work with you get kids help them reach their goals and improve their skills sets. She knows her game as she has played for Triumph Lacrosse. We look forward to having her at camp this year and see what she brings to the table. She will be heading off to D2 Maryville University.

As most of you are now into the heart of your season...you might be thinking " how can I get my kid some extra training to help his/her game so they can help their team succeed."

Well we have your answer...we not only have one of the best staff around that will help work on your kids skills, but we will also teach them how to lead, how to be aware on not only their mental health but how to notice the signs in their teammates, and finally become a part of an amazing community that supports one another. The goalie community is small but tight...strength in numbers. Last but not least, everyone meets new friends and has a ton of fun.
