Did you know that solar eclipse glasses can be donated for future events? The next event will be an annular solar eclipse on October 2nd, 2024 and will be visible in parts of South America. With this eclipse, the sun creates a "ring of fire" around the moon! Please bring your gently used solar eclipse glasses to our office by April 30th for our office to donate!

UPDATE: we received so many phone calls and pickups on eclipse glasses just this morning, that we sold out!

Looks like we are supposed to have good weather for the eclipse this afternoon. We still have some eclipse glasses, so stop by this morning to grab some.

It's eclipse day! This is shaping up to be Lower Michigan's best solar eclipse since 1994. If you are staying put in Western or Mid Michigan (plenty of valid reasons to do so), the cloud forecast has trended more optimistic. There are plenty of ways to enjoy the show as about 95% of the sun's diameter gets blocked by the moon. You might be able to notice a slight dimming of the world around you. Take a look around and observe the strange shadows. Eclipse glasses with proper solar filters (ISO 12312-2) absolutely must be worn to look directly at the sun. It will be a warm and breezy day, but we think a temporary 2 to 4 degree temperature drop and a slight decrease in wind gusts is possible around the 3 PM hour as the eclipse reaches its peak.

Do you have your eclipse glasses yet? We still have some left. We are closed for the weekend, but you can come get them Monday morning. We open at 8am. 😎
