Northlawn UMC
We exist to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. In GR and beyond.
Join us tomorrow online or in person at 9:45 as we celebrate All Saints Sunday and gather in fellowship and Holy Communion.
Nursery (0-4) and Kids Connection (K-6th grade) are available every Sunday for the youngest disciples.
All Saints Day is an opportunity to give thanks for those who have gone before us in the faith. It is a time to celebrate our history, what United Methodists call the tradition of the church.
John Wesley, founder of the Methodist movement, enjoyed and celebrated All Saints Day. In a journal entry from November 1, 1767, Wesley calls it "a festival I truly love." On the same day in 1788, he writes, "I always find this a comfortable day." The following year he calls it "a day that I peculiarly love." Why was this so important to him?
How might it be important to us? Join us as we lift up those who have gone on before us in worship on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 9:45. If there is someone specific that you wish to lift up who has passed onto glory in this past year, please email [email protected] .

Join us next Monday, Nov 4 from 6:30-7:30pm for a special night of prayer and worship as we prepare for the US Elections on Tuesday. It's not a night about politics. It's not a night about partisanship. It's a night of sincere prayer. It's a night of hope. It's a night of trust in the Creator of the heavens and the earth.
Come worship with us as we open space for ALL people to gather in the promises of God through Jesus Christ. Invite a friend who needs a word of hope to join you and see you there!
Trunk or Treat was a HIT today! We had well over 200 kids and their families, saw some amazing costumes, and simply got to be a community together! Thank you to everyone who donated candy, hosted a trunk, and served in any way.

With Trunk or Treat coming up in a few weeks (Oct 27), we are accepting all Candy donations to make sure we have enough on hand for the hundreds of kids that will show up!
If you are unable to have a trunk at this event, this is a great and helpful way to participate! Bring your candy donations to church throughout the week and on Sunday mornings.
New Sermon Series: Do Unto Others starts THIS SUNDAY at 9:45 in person and online!
Our world seems to be consumed with division–often typified in the colors red and blue. Rather than stay in our monochromatic silos, the Golden Rule in scripture challenges us to engage in conversation and seek to create whatever common good we can with our relatives, friends, and neighbors who we might consider to be on the “other side” politically and ideologically. As we attempt to come together, the idea is not that we are obliterating either one or trying to change each other, but rather we discover the beauty that can be created when we work together to make the world a better place. The “purple space” is where we cultivate kindness, compassion, humility, respect, and love for one another and for the good of all the world, no matter what.
Join us tomorrow at Schwallier's Country Basket for a great afternoon at the Cider Mill! If you're in the GR area, join us tomorrow at 10:30am!
