Looking for a new book to read? Hillary Wright, LMFT, gave the following review about The Wisdom of Your Body and Practices for Embodied Living:
“These books help us to change the way that we think about, relate to, and reconnect to our bodies. If you are interested in feeling and thinking differently about the body that you inhabit, these books are for you! They include practice exercises that are easy to follow.”
Wondering what neurodivergent really means? It's a catch-all, not a clinical term, for explaining how some people's brains process things a little differently.

Mental Health Myth Monday ✨
“The solution to body image issues is to change your body.”
Many people can relate to the idea of being “happy” with their body once they reach a certain weight or size. Often times, when they reach their goal, their body issues remain. This is because challenging negative thoughts, offering yourself compassion, and shifting your mindset towards your body can actually be a better solution.
If you struggle with body image, contact our team for support.
Have you heard of DBT? It’s an acronym for Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. We have an awesome group coming up so that you can experience it yourself. Contact our office to sign up!
Happy Monday from the office Monstera 👋 Shout out to .therapist for caring for the Ada office plants.
Mental Health Myth Monday ✨
“I don’t need anyone else. I can do everything on my own and not get lonely.”
We all have different social capacities and preferences. But if you cut out community altogether, you could be missing out on something great. Research shows that spending time with healthy social connections boosts our mood, lowers stress, decreases loneliness, and improves our quality of life. We all need a sense of connectedness.
Did you know that panic attack symptoms are more than hyperventilating or feeling scared? Signs of a panic attack can look different for everyone.
In our busy world, it can be hard to prioritize your own growth and healing. You are worthy of working towards the best version of yourself.
Mental Health Myth Monday ✨
“Grief happens in 5 sequential stages.”
Although the commonly believed 5 stages of grief (denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance) are normal emotions in the grieving process, they are not set stages you will experience. We do not feel grief in a particular order. Grief will look different for everyone and that’s okay!
Take what you need for today.

Mental Health Myth Monday ✨
“Setting boundaries pushes someone away.”
Healthy boundaries preserve and protect the health of relationships. Although there could be some pain when boundaries are initially created, relationships are typically more fulfilling and emotionally healthy when boundaries are in place. Boundaries reduce resentment and provide peace of mind.
Therapy is a safe space to be unapologetically yourself. In fact, being yourself is highly encouraged.
Mental Health Myth Monday ✨
“It’s not possible for a mental health issue to get better.”
Mental health issues can be successfully treated and managed. Symptoms can improve and get better. People with a mental health condition can live happy and fulfilling lives!
If you want support with your mental health, contact us to schedule an appointment!
We are hiring! ✨
