Remember: Anxiety is not the problem. Anxiety is the alarm that tells us that there is a problem. It’s not about making it go away – anxiety is protective. It’s about finding safety in your body which helps regulate your nervous system.
Mental Health Professional Michael Vallejo shines light on the unique challenges anxious parents face when raising children. He offers tips and strategies to help parents learn ways to manage their anxiety. “You don’t have to be perfect to be a great parent. Take each day as it comes, focus on the present moment, and remember that you have what it takes to get through this,” he adds.

Did you miss our last support group discussion on social anxiety? Consider these tips from our topic night:
When you are in a social situation, notice your body language. Could you offer a kind expression; a slight smile on your face?
Check your proximity. Are you standing too close or too far away?
Are you looking at the other person? (Try to avoid looking at your phone or down at the floor.)
Don’t miss our next topic night on sleep and anxiety.
