Gratitude…
An act of being thankful.
Thankful for what?
In a world full of chaos and divisiveness, you must remember that there also exists positive and calm. What you place your attention on is what you see.
I am going to share one of my morning practices. I start my morning off with 5 things I’m thankful for…gratitude. You might start woth 1 or 2. However many you choose, the goal is to direct your intention for the day. To start it out with what you’re thankful for. Not social media, not the news. No…START WITH YOU💜
Keep your daily practices simple and focused on you.
Friendly Reminder:
Running away from your feelings, emotions, the hard stuff that happens, etc. does not fix it. It just continues to pile up until you cannot do it anymore.
Sit with it…
Feel it…
Be curious about it…
Everything is an opportunity to learn from.
This right here is true authenticity.
When you feel yourself holding back from others or like you cannot be yourself for some reason, know they aren’t for you. Doesn’t mean they are “bad” or “in the wrong”. They just aren’t for you.
And that’s ok. Not everyone is meant for us and vice versa.
Your people will find you and appreciate who you are💜

Why I escape to the lake💙
It is not always easy to choose yourself.
It is not always easy to step into a space with people you don’t know.
It’s not always easy to step outside of your comfort zone.
I understand.
I’ve been there and I still have my challenges. Nobody’s perfect.
But what I can say is:
1.) Nature never judges. That’s why I choose her for my retreat space.
2.) Nature breaks down walls. We slowly begin to take off our masks and become curious again.
3.) Nature allows you to breathe. And at the end of the day, breath is life.
I am honored to hold space for those who are ready to step out of their comfort zone. Who are ready to spend 3 days in the woods with other women. Who are ready to DIP THEIR TOE into the water of what is possible when you choose yourself.

Change is not always easy to step into. Most often we try to avoid change until staying where we are becomes uncomfortable.
Slow the mind…
Take a deep breathe…
Take the first step forward…
And wait to see the results.
When things get hard, it can feel like the worst. It can feel like you are "supposed" to suffer; or this is just "how things are for me".
But here's the thing...every thing that happens to you is a lesson or an opportunity. Just like I noted in a previous post, the obstacle is the way. When things happen to you, it isn't always easy to see the lesson in it. S**t, sometimes it takes weeks, months or even YEARS to gain some clarity (I speak from personal experience). But it is possible to reflect back overtime. BUTTTTTTT...You have to be open to RECEIVing the lesson.
Friendly Reminder:
One of the hardest things to do is to step outside of your comfort zone. It offers you safety, convenience (a.k.a. no insecurity and no discomfort). When you choose to live inside your comfort zone only, you choose to not expand your tolerance for discomfort, for new possibilities.
If you want to see change, be ready to step out of your comfort zone and into the discomfort. Know that it (the discomfort) is only temporary; but the growth/potential...WORTH IT!
One of the hardest lessons I had to learn is not everyone is meant to be with you forever. Some people are meant to be with you for longer periods of time; others are just brief moments to teach you something.
At the end, you are the one who decides who is with you.
Quality over quantity should be the lesson taught. Not the likes, the reactions on social media, etc.
People who see you for YOU. People who appreciate who YOU are and are willing to listen and understand you. People who will hold (physically or spiritually) you when you don’t even ask for it.

In my personal opinion, these are the diamonds in the rough. The ones who we all need in our lives, no matter how long they are there.
Choose wisely.

Labels are words and words only. Labels do not make you YOU.
Instead they are surface level masks, roles, etc. that keep others from seeing the real you.
It takes bravery to be yourself. To let down your guard, to step away from expectations set forth by others or society.
It isn't easy, but oh-my-lanta it is worth it💜
You are unique.
When you try to be like others, you lose your uniqueness and therefore yourself.
In a world with plenty of copies, choose to be you.
First paddle boarding class in the books and oh man it was a blast! We covered balancing on the board, rowing, and becoming comfortable on the board. We will continue covering these skills and more this coming week.
Round 2 is coming this Monday from 6:30-7:45 at Versluis Park.
Class is $15 if you bring your own board; $20 if you need to rent a board (limited quantity available so pre registration is required).

Paddle boarding is a passion of mine and I’m excited to share it with others. Starting Monday, June 24th, I am offering evening paddle boarding classes at Versluis Lake in GR from 6:30-7:45. This class is meant for beginners or those who have been interested in paddle boarding, but not yet ready to commit because you want to try it. WELCOME!
Boards are available to rent but are on a first come, first serve basis. You can also bring your own board, maybe even borrow one from a friend!

This was one of the toughest things for me to learn in life.
The obstacle is the way.
Why? Because when life gets hard, it is easy to feel like a victim rather than know you can be a victor. When obstacles come up in your path, it is an opportunity for growth and learning. This can be difficult to understand at the time; but every thing you do is a reflection of your growth. Know that with every obstacle you overcome, you move closer and closer to being YOU...
Until you learn from our obstacles, they (the obstacles) will continue to be a repeated lesson.

I am making a shift to the start date of Paddle boarding classes to let the lake warm up a bit more. Adult Classes will begin June 24th @ 6:30 and Junior Classes will begin July 1st at 5:00.

Classes are aimed for beginners and/or people who have been thinking about paddle boarding but not yet ready to commit. This is a great way to build balance, trust in yourself, build your strength and endurance, and have time in nature without all the chaos.
A limited number of boards are available for rent or you can bring your own (maybe borrow someone else's) to give it a try. Come and check it out!
