A couple of rider alerts:

(1) As part of the new development at the SE corner of Wealthy and Division, the SB Route 5 stops at Wealthy/Division (EB) and Wealthy/LaGrave (EB) stops have been consolidated into a new stop just east of Division. This has been updated in all real-time apps (myStop, Google Maps, Transit app, etc.) Please see picture attached.

(2) 36th Street is closing, from Canal Avenue to Kenowa Avenue, until November 15, 2024, resulting in a detour for Route 28. Bus stop ID’s 7038, 7040, 7042 & 7044 will not be serviced.

Detour:
Route 28 WB: Chicago Dr (L) Canal; layover on Canal at 1st bus stop in front of Adobe. (Canal/Fairview).
Route 28 EB: When traffic clears both directions on Canal & time to depart layover; Canal (L) Fairview (L) Chestnut (L) Prairie (R) Chicago Dr to regular route.

Beginning Monday, we will be conducting mandated environmental monitoring at the Ellsworth/Rapid Central Station site, which will include drilling new monitoring wells. This process may be noisy and could temporarily cause walkway disruptions. The work is scheduled to take approximately
two weeks.

The West Michigan Clean Air Coalition called tomorrow, Tuesday, August 27, a Clean Air Action Day. This means our customers get to ride fare-free, courtesy of The Rapid.

In partnership with Grand Valley Metropolitan Council, The Rapid is awarded a certain amount of Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) funds each year. We dedicate a portion of these funds to Clean Air Action Days to encourage our community to use transportation alternatives, in an effort to keep our air clean and healthy.
