We had an amazing lunch and learn with our Waterpik Oral Health rep Allison! We learned so much and love their products. If you have a hard time implementing flossing into your routine, water flossing is an amazing alternative that does the job well and all of the Waterpik products are so easy to use!

Showered Dr. Alex and his fiance Ally (who is also a dentist!) this week in celebration of their upcoming nuptials! Such a fun night with the team to celebrate love! 💍💒

Celebrating a big anniversary today with our hygienist Emilie with 20 years! She joined our team in 2004.
We are so fortunate to have had Emilie as a part of our team for so long. She truly is a fantastic hygienist and is incredibly humble and kind. She has many patients who have been with her since the beginning of her time at our office. She is always looking into new products for us at the office and scheduling fun and educational lunch and learn experiences for us.

She is the busy mom of three boys. Emilie and her family have been traveling to some amazing places recently and the pictures have been so cool to capture all the memories made!

Emilie—20 years is such a long commitment and testament to your dedication to our office and your patients. Thank you so much for all the time, love and care you put into your position at our office. We love you! ❤️

Today—we are celebrating one year with Skylar! She joined our business team last year and is a treatment coordinator!

Skylar actually has a longer history than a year with dentistry and our office! She was a dental hygiene sub for us and then wanted to transition into the business side of dental. She uses her clinical knowledge to help her patients more fully understand their treatment and gets them scheduled so that they can be their healthiest self! She is amazing at multitasking and is always friendly and helpful to our team.
Skylar has had an exciting year, with the purchase of her first home and lots of renovations to make the house a home.

We are so proud of you and all the growth you have had. We appreciate you and everything you do for our team and for our patients! Happy one year! 🎉

Today we are celebrating 13 years with our Lisa K! She joined our dental assistant team in 2011.
Lisa works with Dr. Kragt and they have had many amazing years together at the office. She is a fantastic assistant and is incredibly kind. She works with her patients and does an amazing job of making sure they have all the TLC that they need to be comfortable. She has previously worked in oral surgery, so she brings lots of experience to her role. We appreciate her role as well on our equipment repair team as well, always fixing things around the office for us!
Outside of work, Lisa and her husband are blessed with four children and their family spends lots of time together. We love to see all the pictures and happy memories you make together!

Practice Update:
We are so excited to be rolling out a new dental software system tomorrow morning for our practice.
That being said, we ask that you give us grace as we put our hours of training into practical use with the new system! Things may take us a little longer as things are fresh, but we know that this software is going to be a huge positive for our practice.

We had an awesome time today at our summer party at Lake Arvesta! This is an awesome waterpark with tons of fun things to do with families and we so appreciate our doctors spoiling us with this fun day in the sun! ☀️🌊🛶🏄‍♂️

We got a visit from Erin and her sweet little Lane! He is two months old and has the best head of hair and is just the most happy little guy! 💙

We are so excited to share that we are expanding our practice capabilities and are a Healthy Start provider through Dr. Sarah DeZwaan! The Healthy Start System is a non-invasive, non-pharmaceutical treatment opinion option that promotes the natural development of dentition in children. This is delivered at our practice with a set of uniquely designed oral appliances worn a few hours a day or at night while your child sleeps. These soft appliances address the root cause of sleep related, breathing disorders, promote nasal breathing, while discouraging mouth breathing as they widen the dental arches to help develop the jaw while straightening the teeth just as nature intended!

This is life changing treatment for children addressing Sleep-related Breathing Disorder which is the underlying condition that often gives rise to many childhood health and behavioral issues.

This will be implemented into our practice and can be discussed with Dr. Sarah. We are so grateful for another way we can help to keep kids as healthy as possible as they develop! Call our office to get set up with your consultation!

Looking to update your electric toothbrush game? We are absolutely obsessed with the Zana toothbrush! This amazing toothbrush system is available for purchase for $150 and includes the toothbrush heads for life from Zana! These toothbrush heads can be grabbed at your hygiene appointments at our office.
Our team transitioned to this toothbrush years ago and the cleaning power is amazing! It has different settings and a timer to make sure you’re getting every nook and cranny for the proper amount of time!

Celebrating our first year with Dr. Vince! She joined our doctor team in 2023. Dr. Vince has been such a joy to get to know over the last year. She is outgoing, personable, and quickly makes connections with the patients that she meets at the office. She does a wonderful job as a dentist and has blossomed into a confident and talented clinician!

She was raised in Rochester Hills and went to dental school at Midwestern University. She has had a very exciting first year in Grand Rapids, with the addition of her golden retriever Schmidt (yes, from New Girl😜) and just recently closed on her first home!

We are so happy for you with this amazing milestone of homeownership and your first year of dental practice! We are proud of you, love you, and can’t wait to see what the future brings you at GLDC!🏡🦮🐾

We enjoyed an awesome lemonade bar this week from our Fun Committee. We also recently had Veggie Day and Pizza Day! 🫑🥦🥒🍕

And yes, you read that right, we have our own Fun Committee! That’s how spoiled and fortunate we are— that we have a specific committee that our doctors use to treat us with awesome things like lemonade bars! We appreciate the work the committee does to add to the fun and joy of working at GLDC and so appreciate our doctors for making fun a priority for our team! ❤️

We’ve got smiles for miles from this beautiful case done by Dr. Spavor! It’s amazing what treatment can be done to help improve the esthetics of a smile and we love being part of that design process! 🦷

Today was one of our favorite kinds of days at GLDC, a PUPPY DAY! We got an awesome visit from the available puppies at Grand River Pomskies!

Our faces say it all, we love dogs, and there are a few things more therapeutic than holding and cuddling these perfect pups! Best day ever with our puppy therapy! 🐾

Celebrating three sweet years with our Brianna! She joined our dental hygiene team in 2021.
Bri is a fantastic hygienist. She interned at our office and worked in sterilization to learn the flow of the practice while in hygiene school and we are so grateful she chose to be a part of our team after graduation! She has a beautiful smile and works to keep her patients smiles healthy with her work as a hygienist.
She and her husband have the sweetest little one year old home and that little man is their world! We love seeing all our GLDC families grow! 🩵

Today we are celebrating the two-year anniversary of Dr. Spavor! He joined our doctor team in 2022.
Dr. Spavor has been such an amazing part of our team, he’s an incredible dentist and brought with him working experience which our patients can see and appreciate about his work! He’s a very kind and gentle person and does fantastic work.
Dr. Spavor is married to his wife Ashley, who is also a dentist just like him! They have two dogs and are working on renovating their home.
We are so grateful to have such a wonderful dentist on our team. You fit in so well with our practice and we are excited to see what the future brings for you at GLDC! Happy two years!
