Please join us on this Giving Tuesday by giving back to organizations, foundations and institutes that protect and build our community. We chose 3 organizations dear to our hearts, Vested Interest in K9s, The Grand Rapids Police Foundation, and The West Michigan Construction Institute.

🐾Vested Interest in K9s - Provides bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of Law Enforcement and related agencies.

👷🏼WMCI - An institution dedicated to helping prepare students in the community for high demand and meaningful careers in commercial construction.

👮🏽 The Grand Rapids Police Foundation - Funds and supports GRPD programs designed to improve the quality of life of our residents and relations between law enforcement and community members.

We’re here for the laughs! Happy Friday!

There still may be a chance for a few days in the 80s but it’s FALL at Metric HQ… and officially… wear a sweater in the morning and regret it in the afternoon 🤣

A plane hit one building. And then the other. Then the Pentagon. Another plane went down. American blood spilled on American soil.

America fell to its knees, but we didn’t stand by.

Out of the ashes rose heroes. They ran into buildings. They ran up floors instead of down. They said tearful goodbyes on an airplane they knew must go down to protect the lives of others.

That’s what we remember about that day. The prayers. The heroes. The America we know and love standing tall in its lowest moment.

God Bless America, Home of the Brave.

|| Employee Spotlight || Colin Beebe, Project Coordinator

Colin is a West Michigan native from Allendale. Colin is an avid outdoorsman, he enjoys hunting (especially bird hunting), fishing and the occasional round of golf.

Colin attended GVSU where he played football but joined the construction industry soon after. He quickly became a lead carpenter and design specialist. Designing in SketchUp anything from homes to company logos. Colin has also dabbled in some 3D printing.

Colins ability to bounce from being in the field as a carpenter to his creativity in SketchUp has made him a huge asset to the team. With a solid understanding of the industry and willingness to jump right in.

Colins creativity, design centered mindset and artistic personality help bring our clients projects to life. Our clients have already enjoyed being able to see their projects come to life before the construction process has even begun. Join us in welcoming Colin to the Metric Team!

|| Employee Spotlight || Eric Essenburg, Supervisor

Eric is a West Michigan native from Grand Haven. Eric rides and races dirt bikes which he has done most of his life alongside his brothers. When not riding dirt bikes, or working… he’s what we like to call a pizza connoisseur.

Eric has been in the construction industry since his junior year of high school. He started off fabricating and installing countertops, and then moved to framing. After framing he became a residential superintendent. Eric also attended Ferris State University for construction management.

Erics attention to detail, understanding of the industry and willingness to jump right in has made him a huge asset to the Metric team!
•
Eric represents Metric Structures on site. He oversees safety, quality, and that our projects stay on schedule, while also making sure that each project is going above the client’s expectations. We are very thankful for Eric!

|| Employee Spotlight || Chelsie Jensen, Business Manager

Chelsie is a West Michigan native living in Hudsonville with her family. Chelsie enjoys photography, being at her family cottage, spending time with family, and watching endless amounts of sporting events that her son participates in.

Chelsie has been around construction her entire life with her dad owning Hovingh Concrete Inc. Being the daughter of a small business owner, Chelsie’s work ethic and general understanding of the trades has helped her grow in her role here at Metric.
•
Chelsies attention to detail, organization, and creativity, help provide a seamless experience for the client in projects big and small. Handling everything from our accounting to social media Chelsie will make sure you are taken care of.

Chelsie has been very enthusiastic and has been embracing the Metric Culture full on. We are so excited to have her on the team.
