a bit of a color correction for this old classmate of mine turned new client ~

and a bit of a transparency post/backstory because hair can be tricky. box dye is tricky. and bleach can be tricky too.

this lovely lady has always done her hair herself, a few weeks ago she tried lightening it and then putting a red box color over it. the third and fourth slide is our starting point. slide five was during pulling foils, i was AMAZED at how light we got her in one session. last slide was after rinsing foils 🥴 this is where bleach being tricky comes in 😂 because - before rinsing I would say we are at a level 8 ALMOST 9 in some places, after rinsing, well now we’re back down to a level 6 almost 7 so this is where you would have to rethink your entire toner formula 😂🫣 fortunately, her inspo picture was similar to about the level & tone in the first 2 slides. i almost thought i would be able to under promise and over deliver but this is EXACTLY how i knew it would go so i made sure to have her inspo pic on the warmer/darker side. so when your hairstylist tells you these things, this is why 🙌🏼

Brightened up this new client yesterday ✨

we had a lot of warmth and banding to break through in her mids/ends (see last pic) and dark, almost some dark orange as well in some areas, to break up underneath but definitely a good session to get where we want to be!
