NORTH TEXAS OVERDOSE AWARENESS DAY. This is an amazing event being held in Denton on the Square, Saturday, August 31, starting at 630 PM. There will be many resources available, speakers, food and music. Also, a training on how to administer Narcan in case of an overdose. This is a FREE event for the community.
There will be a memorial for the loved ones that we have lost.

The Fentanyl & Opioid Crisis - Start the Conversation

As our communities, and others around the country, continue to face the fentanyl poisoning and opioid overdose crisis, we are coming together to educate, provide resources and continue the conversation, to bring awareness, break the stigma and combat this crisis together.

Join us for this community event, Saturday, May 20, 2023, ~ 11 AM to 2 PM. At the Grapevine Rec Center. We will be showing the 18-minute documentary “The Fentanyl Factor.” 11:30 AM and 12 PM, Q & A will be held after each showing. There will be resource tables, continuous live hands-on Narcan training, speakers and more.

All proceeds and donations will go to purchasing Narcan to hand out within our communities.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone and Starting the Conversations that are so necessary, for understanding, educating and awareness of the Fentanyl and Opioid Crisis going on, even in our own backyards. See you soon!

It was such a fun time at The Butterfly Way-a sober living home for women AND The Butterfly Way II, with Lori Lanpher and this group of Beautiful women! Today is World Mental Health Day

Issues like depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, or emotional instability are very real, and we want everyone to know they are not alone, whether dealing with challenges for themselves or with a loved one. While we will always be here to help, we hope you will also share a valuable resource that is free to callers: the National Su***de Prevention Hotline, called Lifeline, at: 9-8-8.

The three-digit calling code is not replacing the national hotline, which still operates at: 1-800-273-8255. The goal of offering an alternative number is to make it easier for people to remember when they are in crisis or distress. Anyone who calls 9-8-8 will be connected with a trained counselor.

The 9-8-8 hotline is staffed 24/7, so people can seek immediate help any time day or night. Callers do not need to be in danger of su***de to use the hotline - they only need mental health support for themselves or someone they know.

The mental health crisis support line is free to use. Once a caller reaches a trained counselor in the Lifeline network, the counselor will listen, provide additional support and connect callers with additional resources if needed.

Lifeline offers a list of warning signs to help determine if a loved one is at increased risk for su***de:

Talking about wanting to die or to kill themselves
Looking for a way to kill themselves, like searching online or buying a gun
Talking about feeling hopeless or having no reason to live
Talking about feeling trapped or in unbearable pain
Talking about being a burden to others
Increasing the use of alcohol or drugs
Acting anxious or agitated; behaving recklessly
Sleeping too little or too much
Withdrawing or isolating themselves
Showing rage or talking about seeking revenge
Extreme mood swings
