The mission of Centennial Area Health Education Center is to positively impact health outcomes in Northeast Colorado by connecting existing and future health professionals and communities with resources and education. Centennial Health Area Education Center is a part of a national network of other non-profit AHEC organizations, that work to improve health services and health education to foster a diverse health work force for underserved communities.

Since its establishment in 1989, the Mini Med program at the CU School of Medicine has been dedicated to educating and captivating audiences across Colorado and beyond. Tomorrow is . Did you know that by 2025, an estimated 92,000 Coloradans will be living with Alzheimer's disease? The need for care in our community is growing and CAHEC is proud to be launching a new Compassionate Care Dementia Training program.
This initiative is designed to teach caregivers and providers techniques that not only improve health outcomes for patients but also reduce stress for both patients and providers.

Applications are now being accepted online for the Brave of Heart Scholarship. Up to $25,000.00 annually is available in funding, depending on an eligible applicant’s academic focus, student status, and other criteria. Application deadline is Oct. 7, 2024, 3 p.m. CT.
The Brave of Heart Scholarship is non-competitive. All eligible applicants will receive some level of award. Eligible applicants:
- Are a spouse, domestic partner, or child of a healthcare worker, volunteer, or support staff whose life was lost in the fight against COVID-19
- Plan to enroll in an accredited program at a vocational and technical school, community college, 4-year college or university, or graduate school (if pursuing healthcare studies)
- Individuals enrolled in part-time coursework (at least 6 credit hours per term), returning to school for continuing education, or exploring a new field of study are eligible
- Individuals do not have to be previous recipients of Brave of Heart Fund grants to be eligible; and previous recipients of Brave of Heart grants are eligible for this scholarship

Nine students from CAHEC's region joined their peers from around the state to experience hands-on health career exploration at the Colorado AHEC HOPE camp including the UCHealth simulation. https://loom.ly/ICuzzpE
Lifelike mannequins and a sophisticated simulation unit help HOPE camp teens learn emergency medical skills HOPE camp aims to inspire future medical careers for underserved students from rural areas along with kids of color and LGBTQ+ kids.
CAHEC was brought in on the Strong Sector Good Jobs grant awarded to the Northern Colorado Health Sector Partnership to aid in supporting Weld and Larimer students interested in health careers. As part of this grant we are working with the high schools in these two counties to bring in health professions guest speakers. Speakers are invited to come talk about their career journey and answer student questions about their field. As part of the grant the speakers will be filmed to be shared on the NoCO Health Sector Partnership website. We are seeking health professionals who are willing to volunteer their time to help local students delve deeper into health career exploration. Mileage reimbursements are available. Fill out the interest form by September 15th if you would like to inspire students!

The Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence is excited to partner with The Weld Trust to offer tuition scholarships for nurses who are seeking to reactivate their licenses and return to the workforce in Weld County.
This collaboration is all about empowering nurses who are living and working in the community, helping them to overcome financial hurdles and continue their vital roles in healthcare. Together, we're committed to supporting the professional growth of nurses and enhancing the quality of care for everyone in Weld County.
