Thanks to everyone who attended Tox-Away Days this year - 77 tons of hazardous materials were safely removed from our communities :)

Please stay hydrated at the Putnam County Fair (July 21-28) & look for these bins to recycle your empty plastic bottles (water, soda, sports drink) and metal soda cans. Good luck to all the 4-Hers!

Thank you to everyone who came to the May 13 Tox-Away Day. We served 550 vehicles during the 5-hour event and collected 74,260 lbs. of tires, appliances, and electronics (along with 20,421 lbs. of toxic and hazardous materials such as chemicals, cleaners, pesticides, medication/sharps). If you missed this one, our next Tox-Away Day is Sept. 16 at the 4-H fairgrounds in Rockville - all Parke and Putnam County residents are welcome!

The West Central Solid Waste District van has a shiny new look thanks to the Auto Collision students at Area 30 Career Center. Mr. Worman’s class sanded, repaired, and repainted the van to provide a much needed face-lift including new vinyl graphics (with the assistance of Area 30’s graphic design class). Great job guys!
