After a few weeks of putting up hay, it was nice to have a slow evening of taking care of some calves and spraying for flies. Also a nice surprise this evening seeing a fresh calf on the ground out of one of the Charolais! Glad to have Makayla Skye along to take some pictures! (No calves where injured)

This past Tuesday we welcomed this little heifer into the world. I had left work early to take care of a few things and found this cow mid birth. We had been a little worried seeing as her first calf did not make it. But I’m happy to say her second calf is doing well and healthy. Even if she is definitely the smallest calf ever born here, for size comparison the panels are 6 foot and the 3rd run is maybe a foot and a half tall and she weighs less than a 50 pound bag of feed.

Haven’t posted in a while, but fall calves have been hitting the ground even with a set of twins! One twin had to be put on a bottle but he has been taken to North Buncombe High school for the students to take care of till he is ready to wean!

Cleaning up the new lease for replacement heifers! Big bush hog is in Greeneville so had to break out the 4ft! Sure does take a while!

This feller here will be looking for his own herd next month! Hate to see him off to a packing house. This bull is going on 7 months he is a dandy to see in person mom and dad are pictured. Mom is an excellent milker and dad throws low birth weight calves and never a problem with heifers! He will start weaning process sat. Sept. 24th and will be UTD on shots and wormed when pulled. If interested please let me know he is located in Greeneville TN.

The first Hereford baby born on the farm, 2/27/22!!! She had a cold and super wet start to the world, but thankfully, mama and baby are doing great!!!
