Let your imagination run wild and join us for Week 2 of GYC's Summer Choir Camp - "Imagination: Music of Dreams, Creatures, and Fantastical Beings"!

We'll travel to the land of make-believe and focus on the elements of singing and musical expression through songs about the creatures of our imagination and dreams! Be ready for a week of fun, creative music-making!

Week 2 is offered 8:30am-1:00pm, July 29 - August 1st at the Academy of Lincoln as part of GCS's Summer Arts Institute. $125 for the week. Breakfast and Lunch are included.

Get your toes a-tappin' and fingers snappin' for Week 1 of GYC's Summer Choir Camp: "Singin' and Swingin': Jazz & More!" We'll focus on learning the elements of jazz music, the basics of s**t singing and imitating jazz instruments, and discover the joy of singing jazz standards together for a cool and groovy week of fun! 😎🎶

The Choral Arts Collective is seeking great singers from a wide variety of backgrounds to join Bel Canto Company and Gate City Voices. We are searching for talented singers of all voice parts, with a particular need for tenors and basses in both ensembles. Ideal candidates will have a rich history of singing excellence as a member of a choral ensemble and a strong desire to collaborate musically with other like-minded singers.

Within one week, Bel Canto Company’s 41st Season concludes with a concert of beautiful singing in an amazingly wide range of styles including classical, jazz, folk, blues, and pop. When asked about the second half of the program, artistic director and conductor Welborn Young said, “It is sure to have you clapping, stomping, and smiling all the way home!”

The Greensboro Youth Chorus is looking forward to an exciting Saturday afternoon of choral collaboration with the Emmy-Award winning Young People’s Chorus of New York City and the Greensboro Day School choruses! The 4pm concert in GDS’s Sloan Theater is free and open to the public. Come join us!

We are SO excited to collaborate with the fabulous Emmy-Award winning Young People’s Chorus of New York City and the Greensboro Day School choruses this Saturday for the Greensboro Chorus Invitational! 🤩 Our Apprentice Choir and Concert Choir singers will workshop songs with YPC to perform in Greensboro Day School’s Sloan Theater. Please join us for this free community performance from 4-5pm! We can’t wait!

Congratulations to all of the singers from Bel Canto Company, Gate City Voices, NC A&T State University Choir, Western Guilford High School Choir, and Wheatmore High School Voices of Valor, as well as the conductors, Dr. Welborn Young, Dr. Travis W. Alexander, Jordan Rosser, and LJ Martin, tenor soloist Robert Bracey, and instrumentalists John Alexander (organ), Justin Wheeler, Hannah Markun, Julio Jeri (trumpets), Jim Lane, Nick Lewis, Jared Gilbert (trombones) and Ian Jones (percussion) on the tremendous “Shout for Joy” concert last week!

Do you know a rising 1st through 6th grader looking for an immersive summer arts day camp experience this summer? Our GYC Summer Choir Camp offers two separate weeks at the end of July for children to participate in singing, music games, and other activities, such as visual art, creative movement, and dramatization. As part of Guilford County Schools’ Summer Arts Institute, the cost is only $125 for the week and includes breakfast and lunch!
