How much protein should you really be eating?
A good place to start is 1.2-2 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight.
Why eat protein?
Numerous studies suggest that a high-protein diet has major benefits for weight loss and metabolic health.
A high-protein diet may help reduce appetite. Protein is generally more filling and will leave you full for longer by reducing your hunger hormone, and by boosting the hormone that makes you feel full. Try decreasing the amount of rice on your plate for a little extra fish or chicken and you may find yourself less likely to rummage through the snack cabinet after dinner.
A high-protein diet may increase muscle mass. Protein is the building blocks of your muscles. This is important even in a weight loss journey to ensure you aren’t losing muscle mass.
A high-protein diet can boost metabolism and increase fat burning. When your body begins to use the calories you consume for energy it performs what is called the thermogenic effect of food. Protein has a higher thermogenic effect than carbs and fats.
A high-protein diet can lower your blood pressure.
A high-protein diet can help maintain weight loss because of the boost in metabolism and less desire for cravings and snacking.
Track using a food diary if you are unsure how much protein you are consuming.
Meet Olivia (Liv),
I began my fitness journey at 16 years old shortly after signing with my first modeling agency. Modeling gave me the motivation I needed to practice a consistent gym routine
Shortly after I ventured from the usual cardio machines to the weights. The results I experienced from incorporating weight training into my routine far surpassed anything I had achieved from the hours of cardio I would do daily. Two years later, through tons of research and trial and error I found a method that worked.
By practicing proper routines in the gym in combination with good nutrition outside of the gym I completely transformed my body. I now have a passion of sharing what I've learned with my clients.
Once I experienced the power of making health and fitness a priority I had a desire to help change the lives of others using the same outlet. The weight room.

About Liv Athletics
Liv Atlethics was started in 2019 by Olivia Parrish. Olivia Parrish worked in a commercial gym for a few short months before soon realizing that so many individuals lack basic understanding of health and fitness to reach their goals. She had a passion for teaching others these skills. Olivia Parrish launched Liv Athletics in hopes to reach a larger audience than that of the small commercial gym she found herself a part of. Liv Athletics prides itself in giving current advice and guidance. We specialize in women, weight loss, hypertrophy, and post natal exercise.
