Omg!! I am so excited to announce that Ana Elizabeth Odom will be speaking at Hidden Gems Galentine’s Day Event this coming Saturday! After our conversation today I can confidently and wholeheartedly say that my mentees are truly in for a real treat! This was the perfect event to kick off 2024 because it was an opportunity for the girls to visualize their goals and aspirations. It was a day of positivity and encouragement and it was absolutely amazing to see the girls express their dreams and ambitions through art and creativity!

I am immensely proud of the success of the vision board party and the impact it had on my mentees. We believe that providing opportunities for self-expression and goal-setting is crucial in empowering young women to reach their full potential!

I just wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for my amazing group of mentees who joined us tonight for Hidden Gems New Year Kick-Off Meeting!! Their prescence and their participation means the absolute world to me!

During our meeting tonight I had the opportunity to reiterate our mission statement and core values that guide the work that we do and share my heart.💞We also took the time to reflect on past events discuss upcoming events and just reflect on the overall progress that we have made and looking forward to the exciting activities and initiatives planned for the future! We ended with a Q&A session where everyone had the chance to ask questions share their thoughts and engage in meaningful discussions.

I am incredibly proud of each mentee for their dedication and enthusiasm. Your participation tonight truly embodies the spirit of Hidden Gems and I am honored to be part of this journey with each of you. Did you know that January is National Mentoring Month? I have had the incredible opportunity to mentor young ladies between the ages of 13-17 since 2020 when Hidden Gems initially launched and it has truly been such a rewarding experience to guide and support these amazing ladies as they navigate through their teenage years and prepare for the future!

I believe wholeheartedly that mentorship is just a powerful way to make a positive impact on the lives of young people and I am forever grateful for the chance to be a part of their journey.

Here’s to National Mentoring Month and the incredible mentors making a difference in the lives of young people everywhere!

I had another fantastic one-on-one session with my mentee tonight! We had a thought-provoking discussion about the decision-making process between joining the Navy vs pursuing a career as an OB doctor. It was truly inspiring to see the passion and determination that she has. I had her to explore the pros and cons of each path. These sessions are always a highlight for me and I typically don't share what I do behind the scenes but many have inquired about what Hidden Gems entails so I wanted to continue giving you all a glimpse into what I do.

During our session tonight we talked about the complexities of choosing between a career in the Navy and becoming an OB doctor. We discussed the unique challenges and rewards associated with each path considering factors such as personal interests long-term goals educational requirements and potential impact on society.

Moments like these just reaffirms the value of mentorship in guiding these young ladies towards fulfilling their potential and I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to provide support share insights and witness their personal growth.

I truly look forward to many more engaging sessions and witness their journey towards success!

Another successful one-on-one mentorship session in the books with one of my mentees tonight! She was also in need of assistance with editing an essay to graduate early.

We began the session with a discussion talking about her academic and personal goals. Then I told her how her statement needed to be compelling and one that highlighted her unique qualities experiences and aspirations.

Overall it was a very valuable experience for both myself and my mentee. We were able to work together to develop a plan for her to overcome obstacles improve her academic performance and achieve her goals. I am confident that with continued guidance and support she will be successful in her pursuit of an early graduation as well! I absolutely love what I do!💞

That moment one of your mentees reach out to you for help writing a personal statement to graduate a year early and she text to say thank you and that she was approved to do so! Zamaria is such determined and hardworking young lady and when we did our Zoom she already had her bullet points written down and started her essay and I just edited and gave her some pointers.

After offering some guidance and support we managed to craft a powerful and compelling personal statement that truly showcased her dedication and passion for her desire to graduate early.

This milestone is only a testament to her resilience determination and the power of mentorship and I am incredibly proud of her accomplishments and honored to have played a role in her journey. Her success serves as a reminder of the transformative impact that mentorship can have on individuals and the importance of offering guidance and support to those who seek it. Congratulations Z....I can't wait to see you walk across that stage !🎓🎓 💎

Hidden Gems 4th ANNUAL DAY OF BEAUTY 2023 is underway! As many of you know October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and it's also a time to shed light on the issue of domestic violence and in honor of these important causes I am thrilled to announce that Hidden Gems will be hosting this event for the 4th year in a row now!
This event is not just about pampering these Survivors; it's about celebrating the strength and resilience of survivors. We want to uplift and empower those who have overcome the challenges of breast cancer or domestic violence. That's why we need your help!
I kindly ask each and every one of you to nominate a survivor who deserves a full day of beauty. Whether it's a family member friend neighbor or colleague we want to hear their stories and recognize their bravery!

Our mentorship session titled "Who Am I" Part II was just absolutely amazing today that was headed up by Kaneshia Goldsmith! Her dedication and effort in organizing such an interactive and engaging event were truly commendable!

She chose such a thought-provoking topic that explored the concept of self-identity which made the girls dig deep into their own thoughts and emotions.

The highlight of this session was the activity where she had them write letters to themselves which gave them the opportunity to reflect on past experiences acknowledge their strengths and set goals for the future. It was such a powerful exercise that allowed them to connect with their inner selves.

She created such a safe and supportive environment throughout the entire session. We had open dialogue that fostered an atmosphere of trust and respect.

Thank you so much for your willingness to share your knowledge experiences and insights. Your dedication creativity and genuine care for each mentee truly made it an unforgettable experience!

Thank you once again for creating an environment that allowed the girls to explore their identities and grow as individuals. We are looking forward to future opportunities to learn from you!
