Children experience all the same emotions as adults, but they arenโt yet equipped with the tools to handle those feelings. The first step toward understanding their big feelings is helping them learn how to recognize and name their emotions. At The Goddard School - Greenville we like asking open-ended questions like โWhat is something that makes you happy or sad?โ or โCan you show me what face you make when you are happy, sad or angry?โ This gives children the opportunity to share their emotions and show what they know about them. This exercise had Goddard students using emojis to identify each emotion in honor of World Emoji Day. ๐๐๐๐ฅ๐ด Give it a try with your little one!
๐ Happy Emoji Day everyone! Let's celebrate the tiny characters that add so much fun and emotion to our digital conversations. Today, we incorporated emojis in our classrooms by labeling our emotions! What's your favorite emoji? Share in the comments below! ๐โค๏ธ
