Our churches suffer because our pleasures, leisure & fun time. Good things keep us from the best things (Rom 12:1-2).

A Worthy Sacrifice
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God (Romans 12:1-2).

Christmas in the Garden of Eden
Genesis 3:14-15
1. A Word - God pronounced the future prophetically.
2. A War - God declared that conflict would exist between Satan and humanity.
3. A Woman - God would use woman to bring forth a seed that would bring down the very one that brought her down.
4. A Warrior - From the womb of woman would come a child who would become a warrior against the enemy of mankind.
5. A Win - The warrior from woman’s womb would be wounded but would conquer the demonic power.

A Snake, A Seed, and A Saviour
Genesis 3:11-15
1. A Perverse Voice - The serpent who spoke to deceive mankind and lead them into sin.
2. A Prophetic Word - In speaking to the serpent, God the Father prophesied the coming of the Christ child.
3. A Pregnant Girl -The Father told the serpent that a woman would bring the victorious seed.
4. A Powerful Saviour -The One who would be born of woman that would be bruised but who would crush Satan.

Joseph - TOUGH AND TENDER
Matthew 1:18-25
We give attention to Mary and rightly so. But Joseph deserves his credit, too. He is a model of the man of faith, struggling with his doubts, persuaded to believe what God has said and ultimately acting upon it. In these days of confusion, Joseph is a model of what a godly man looks like:
1. He was tough when he could have been weak.
2. He was tender when he could have been harsh.
3. He was thoughtful when he could have been hasty.
4. He was trusting when he could have doubted.
5. He was temperate when he could have indulged himself.

1. Incarnation - the embodiment of God the Son in human flesh
2. Habitation - the state or process of living in a particular place. John 1:14
3. Manifestation - the action or fact of showing an abstract idea.
4. Invitation - a written or verbal request inviting someone to go somewhere or to do something.

Matthew 2
The Christmas story is full of truths which we can apply to our own lives. Consider these four truths from Matthew 2
1. GOD'S TIMING IS PERFECT Vss. 1-2
Jesus was born at just the right time and in just the right place Mic 5:2
The wise men came at just the right time to just the right place.
2. GOD'S ENEMIES ARE TREACHEROUS Vss. 3-8
Satan, through Herod, would do all that he could to destroy the Lord Jesus, including trying to deceive the wise men.
3. GOD'S SERVANTS ARE FAITHFUL Vss. 9-14

To obey. 12-14 (The wise men and Joseph obeyed God's directions.)

Mary’s Little Lamb, the Virgin-born Son of God, was born to take away sin. Mary wrapped that Little Lamb in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger.
The Old Testament lamb was a Shadow of the New Testament Lamb, who is Substance.
