The Greenville County Human Relations Commission is a HUD-approved local Housing Counseling Agency.
Almost five decades ago a small group of ministers, college professors, prominent citizens and a few regular folks began meeting to discuss the rising racial tension in the area. Together they developed an action plan to mend relations and to open the lines of communication between the races. In 1969, Mayor Cooper White created the Human Relations Commission.

2024 CFE Convening, May 8-9, 2024. A biannual event that brings together financial counselors, program managers and local government managers from FECs around the country. Hosted by Cities for Financial Empowerment, the event allows the opportunity for networking with other FECs and the ability to learn best practices from others. It was a packed 2 day event that included whole group and break out sessions. Sample sessions included "Developing Integrated Program Partnerships," "Practicing Self Care: Setting boundaries and avoiding burnout," and "Supporting Clients with Disabilities." Dr. Duckett was a part of a panel during the "Navigating Political Dynamics" breakout and Sheryl was part of a panel on "The Power of Dynamic Storytelling" breakout session.
