It is a little disingenuous to call this a “Trump-era” issue as of President Trump advocated for this regulation. SCOTUS has gotten it right. It is not up to the ATF or any other branch of government to create regulations that amount to laws. That is the purview of Congress because they are elected and answer to us.

Having been to Israel and see what I presumed to be a proliferation of guns, it is quite surprising to read this article. I'm not surprised with the emphasis of that country on saving life that there is this mentality. What is surprising is the lack of preparation for self defense when that nation is absolutely surrounded by elements that want to overrun and destroy them.

A more useful idea, Governor, would be to shake down the thugs walking around and take their guns aka "stop and frisk." SCOTUS has already ruled that unconstitutional. Maybe you have not heard. I wonder what SCOTUS would think of shaking down legally armed, law abiding citizens?

We do have this thing called the Constitution. It's about to be Constitution Week. Maybe if you start now you can get it all read before then. It's just a few pages long.

No one will propose this but it’s time to implement stop and frisk in these high-crime areas. Shake down the gang members that do this senseless crime.

Instead, someone will propose more gun restrictions and laws to make it hard on the legal gun owners and do nothing to the criminals.

Generally speaking, the government always, ALWAYS, argues for the limitation of the right to keep and bear arms. The Constitution says that right "shall not be infringed." There is nothing else to say but that this is an infringement. If it stands, it will merely be step one toward more government intrusion and infringement of the only right we have that keeps us safe.
