East Carolina Piano Festival Competition offers the Concerto Prize winner an opportunity to perform as a concerto soloist with the Long Bay Symphony Orchestra (Myrtle Beach, SC) during the 2025-2026 season!

Congratulations to Evan Martschenko (student of Keiko Sekino) for being selected through a university-wide nomination process for this prestigious award! What an exciting news!! 👏👏

The Robert H. Wright Alumni Leadership Award is the most prestigious award presented by the ECU Alumni Association, given to students who live up to Robert H. Wright's legacy of using leadership to influence positive change.

Congratulations to Evan Martschenko on being selected as a recipient of the Robert H. Wright award for 2022.

The award recognizes students’ academic achievement as well as commitment to leadership and integrity. Evan will be honored at ECU’s spring commencement ceremony on May 6, 2022.

The Robert H. Wright Alumni Leadership Award is the most prestigious award presented by the ECU Alumni Association, given to students who live up to Robert H. Wright's legacy of using leadership to influence positive change, just as Wright did as the first president of East Carolina Teachers Training School and East Carolina Teachers College.

What a treat to hear Beethoven + Chopin performed by Mr. Kwan Yi earlier this week! An evening full of generous and beautifully probing music making. Thank you for giving us so much joy and courage through music. We are all inspired to practice 'slowly and thoughtfully'!

Congratulations to Ritchie Bui (student of Mr. Kwan Yi)! What an exciting opportunity to perform with an orchestra! 👏👏👏

ECU School Of Music freshman piano student Ritchie Bui won the grand prize in the Hampton Roads Philharmonic Orchestra concerto competition in Virginia.

He received a monetary prize and will perform Mozart Concerto in C major, K. 415, with the orchestra in March 2022.

Bui is a student of Kwan Yi.

Anna Beth currently serves as Manager of Operations and Corporate Relations for the Frances Clark Center and Associate Director of NCKP: The Piano Conference. She holds a BM in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from East Carolina University and an MM in Piano Pedagogy from the University of South Carolina.
