MHJF Returns to MHCC
April 24-26, 2020: The historic Mt. Hood Jazz Festival returns to Mt. Hood Community College in 2020 and we have an amazing lineup of musicians to welcome it home! Wycliffe Gordon kicks off the festival with a Friday night concert. Saturday night's concert will feature Ben Wendell! They’ll be joined by some of Portland’s top jazz musicians. Additional performances will be named soon!
As the festival returns to the college, an exciting new festival will be born, joining the 42 years of the former Northwest Jazz Band Festival with the Mt. Hood Jazz Festival! Over 70 high school and middle school jazz ensembles will compete throughout the day and regional jazz artists will hold hourly masterclasses.
The newly envisioned Mt. Hood Jazz Festival focuses on jazz education, bringing the next generation of jazz artists and supporters into contact with the contemporaries and historical figures of this genre.
